U.S. Mobilizes Over 5,200 Troops to Southern Border in Security Operation.
On Monday, October 29, 2018 the U.S. Air Force released the first video of C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules tactical transport aircraft deploying with full-time U.S. military troops to the United States/Mexico border in support of Operation Faithful Patriot. The video shows units of the 3rd Airlift Squadron of Dover Air Force Base and 61st Airlift Squadron of Little Rock, Arkansas loading cargo and personnel at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
According to an official statement, U.S. Northern Command General Terrence J. OShaughnessy told media that Operation Faithful Patriot is deploying regular, full-time U.S. military units to the region, To harden the southern border. The arrival of regular military units will augment National Guard units and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol operations already in the southern frontier region.
Units shown in the video include the Headquarters Company of the 89th Military Police Brigade. It is likely the Headquarters Company of the 89th Military Police has been forward-deployed prior to the arrival of other elements of the unit as an advanced party to establish logistics in the region prior to the arrival of the remaining unit.

Operation Faithful Patriot my ass.
Should be Operation Keepm Out.
Well, was the irony intentional?
I expect we would see what we observed in Panama. The civilian population was glad to see the empty holsters pretty overwhelmingly. I would expect the Mexican Government to diplomatically object for the record and begin negotiating our withdrawal but I expect a number of civilians in border towns would delay it as long as possible as there would be a significant boost to tourism.
Part of delay may have been crews repainting graffiti on bombs to say “Hello, Illegals” replacing “Hello, Ivan”.
And it would be real cool if a couple of those 130’s were of the Spooky variety.

My first thought also. Do a flyby and literally draw a line in the sand with that Vulcan.
"If you're one of the 5000 families attached to a servicemember being sent to the border, you should know that the President would rather use your loved one as a fearmongering election prop than allow them home for Thanksgiving. Oh and all of our tax dollars are paying for it."
Well sunshine, I'd rather have my tax dollars used to DEFEND our borders than waste them on unending welfare for people who don't belong here.
Maybe they can stay there I help to build the WALL.....NOW.

How about all the families of the Border Patrol employees & the ICE employees?
How about all the USA families who are taxed beyond measure to support these invaders?
How much more could Trump lower our income taxes & other taxes IF there were NO ILLEGALS in the USA sucking at our wages???
“The U.S. should try and negotiate an agreement with Mexico for Joint Forces......”
The Mexican government is not going to help. They never have. I sincerely doubt they will do anything to help now particularly since it is a high profile group “running the line” getting mass publicity trying to make the world cry for them. I think they ought to take the picture of the troops boarding the Herc and put it on a billboard at the border so the alien trespassers can get a good look at what they will be charging into.
Factually, Mexico is probably overjoyed they can get rid of them since they are homeless, hungry, and have no other way to survive without donations or terrorizing locals to steal from them. I’m surprised the media hasn’t mentioned some of them being shot or arrested on their way up the coast. Many of the villages they will pass through are not rich in food and water so they are very tight with it. Course that would take away the intent of the media to assist the libs in supplementing their voting ranks. Can’t have that can we?

At the very least it’s some good training.
Probably also got to dust off and update some old plans.
much of the military and police near the border are either controlled by the cartels, or are afraid of them. I think the military is MORE afraid of cartels than the US. they know the US won’t fire on or kill anyone. they know the cartles will. don’t expect any help from mexico
“And it would be real cool if a couple of those 130s were of the Spooky variety.”
I recall one totally dark night in 69 sitting in one of those dam sitting duck towers. About a quarter mile away a flare went up. I heard the sound of an airplane overhead. Then came the cone of fire and that loud noise that sounded like an unmuffled diesel engine at high RPM. Needless to say, it scared the holy hell out of me.
Point being, I like your idea. All they have to do is fire in an empty neighboring field close to them and they will scatter. I’d used this method as a prodding stick to heard them back to wherever they came from
I know there's too much gap between the ears to get the spark but how is it more or less of our tax dollars to have these troops on our southern border as opposed to them residing at say Ft Bragg? We are already paying to house, feed and train these troops so this is nothing more than a shift in locations/mission.
Truman called it “Operation Wetback’ in the early 50’s & Eisenhower continued it. Over 11 million illegals were removed from the USA.
Trump should persuade the Mexican president to issue a public invitation to set up operations inside Mexico.
I wonder how many C-130 gunships are going there.
Declaring a "State of Emergency" and declaring "Martial Law" for a 50 Klicks along the border Nullifies the courts. Learn from Lincoln.
Let me know when they’re repositioning AC-130s.
