Someone who runs for office and wins is, apparently, automatically considered to have “passed” a background investigation.
In my view, prospective candidates should be required to pass an FBI background security check prior to being eligible to run. it would weed out at least some of the clowns that infest government. By the time the Clintons rolled around, the standards were thrown out the window. Things did not improve in recent decades.
Incidentally, the writer mentioned “Rhodes Scholar” as something to be ... impressed with. The truth is, at Oxford - in jolly old England, it’s regarded largely as a joke. Seriously.
