Professor Jordan Peterson argued this weekend that Brett Kavanaugh should step down from the Supreme Court for a "less divisive" nominee to take his place, despite Petersons past advice to "never apologize to a mob."...The tweet came in response to a thread by former Evergreen State College Professor Bret Weinstein, who called Kavanaugh an "entitled punk."

Trying it again:
Isnt it easier to just throw Justice Kavanaugh down a Well?
If he DROWNS he is Innocent, if he survives, burn him at the Stake.
You really don't need someone who councils surrender. But you follow who you like.
IMHO the first order of business is to investigate the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee, and all of Fords friends - starting with her pal in the FBI. And everyone involved in every other smear launched against Kavanaugh in the past couple of weeks. Audit their taxes. Find out where they got every dime they have. And prosecute every one of them - Ford last. But at the same time, begin an investigation into the Associated Press. It shouldnt take long to prove that the AP Stylebook forbids calling illegal aliens illegal aliens. As just one example of the conspiracy against the public which the AP wire creates. The AP is a standing violation of the Sherman AntiTrust Act. Prosecute, punish with prejudice, TERMINATE! And that goes, in attenuated but real form for all the members of the AP.
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (1776)The AP wire is a continual virtual meeting of all of the APs membership. Conspiracy against the public is inevitable in such case.
Spoken like a man who has only heard this one thing, and will judge him on this and this alone. Do as you will, but if you do that, you are selling him short.
I think you are reading too much into this situation. He simply posted a comment without completely thinking it through. It was 2:00 a.m. Everyone occasionally says something stupid that they is totally out of character. That’s it; nothing more, nor less.
That is true of those who council surrender for trivial reasons.
Peterson has made a number of political related statements before.
Everywhere else he seems to be a genius, when it comes to politics he is uninformed and stupid.
Thanks.
His background is as a clinical psychologist and a lecturer in psychology. His focus is on the individual not on specific institutions.
Peterson's response to the Canadian law mandating the use of various pronouns was to refuse outright, even if that meant that his university would fire him or that he would go to jail.
I think he was looking at this situation with his focus on Kavanaugh's welfare and not that of his supporters.
One claim that the liberals have made is that Ford had nothing to gain by coming forward. That, of course, assumes that she doesn't benefit from frustrating the efforts of Trump and his followers to control the Supreme Court. It also ignores the adulation and other rewards that Ford gains from the liberal establishment.
If Kavanaugh were to step down it would cost me some heartburn while I pondered whether Trump and the Senate could replace him in a timely fashion without other costs. It would only cost Kavanaugh a job, albeit a job that he and similar judges view as the absolute pinnacle of a legal career.
If Kavanaugh steps down, he makes a statement that there is nothing more valuable than his good name. He demonstrates that he does not value his personal promotion above the good that comes from truth and justice. He points the finger at those who conspired and lied in their somewhat successful attempt to smear him.
I realized early on that Trump was facing what amounted to a win-win situation with this divisive process. If, has happened, Kavanaugh is confirmed, Trump wins.
If Kavanaugh had been successfully blocked then the election in November would likely result in a gain of 3 to 5 seats in the Senate, ensuring that Kavanaugh or someone else would be seated in January and that a replacement for Ginsburg would be that much easier to seat (if my dreams are realized).
Clarification: I was referring to Kavanaugh's supporters.
Peterson believes that humans have inherited traits which make them competitive and which cause them to feel inner rewards when they are successful at achieving valuable goals.
Because of these traits, humans support the creation of hierarchies of more capable achievers receiving benefits that less capable achievers don't get. With such hierarchies humans benefit individually and collectively.
But there's more. Peterson also believes that hierarchies can become tyrannical. Those lower on the ladder can be victimized by those higher up. (Think Paula Jones and Bill Clinton.) And some people will simply be so uncompetitive that they cannot survive at all. For example, a person in an iron lung might die very quickly without aid that is not tied to their ability to compete with others.
Peterson's belief is that the place of conservatives is to support the hierarchy. That of liberals is to question the treatment of those who do not benefit from the hierarchy. The healthiest society is that which peacefully exists between the two extremes. Both conservatives and liberals can go too far.
Because liberals are the ones going too far in western civilization as we speak, it appears to some that Peterson is a conservative.

Another one who has written good opinions in re. the Second Amendment would do very nicely for encouraging conservative voters.
I have to use a qualifier absent any confirmation.
You are assuming motivation of the person and I am not. If he comes out and says that he meant every word, at the time he wrote it, I can say that he was definitely wrong.
He may not have meant what he wrote in the way that you think he meant it. In which case, depending on the reasons for writing that tweet, he may not have been wrong.
I don’t mind at all calling him out.. this was serious stupid. But, so was this threat up to that point. I have come to expect better because I have seen better here. And, frankly my assessment is as good as any.
Well done
.
Soft-skulled appologist for tyranny.

Good Lord you are to making attribution....you assume sarcasm.
He openly said his comments were meant to still harsh waters. He apologized for not understanding the situation
Try searching for it.....if you aren’t on Twitter
