do you know how machin from WV will vote?

Yes if he wants to continue being a Senator. He is in a statistical dead-heat with is Republican opponent.

No if a high-paying cushy job on K Street or with a Democrat think-tank appeals to him.

secured a deal to delay a floor vote on the nomination for a week.

I don't think Mitchie McConnell has to grant any delays, despite Flake's grandstanding, but it may be to our advantage - I've seen a couple of reports that they don't have the votes for confirmation with Collins and Murkowski pulling their usual stunts. If the FBI "investigates", and since there is nothing to go on, finds nothing, then maybe Mitchie can get enough votes in line.

Correct me if I’m.wrong, but didn’t Moore win the Senate primary election in Alabama, to become the GOP nominee?

On other words,it wasn’t that the GOP put up.a.bad candidate, but that he was the choice of GOP voters?

Correct me if I’m.wrong about that.

The fours dems in red Trump states that are up for reelection have either said they will vote no or are playing coy with undecided. This may be the time to strategize and go with a game plan that their Republican opponents will vote yes if elected and that is all they will talk about for the next few days and then poll the state and if there is a strong trend in favor of the Republicans that may force the hand of the 4 dems.

I watched Trump being interviewed. He was very supportive of Kavanaugh, but basically said the situation is in the hands of the Senate - which it is. Since Flake buts heads with Trump, I think it’s a good moment for Trump to step back and try to look statesmanlike, not make it seem like he will work around Flake.

Except the 6 times they have investigated him, they came up with nothing.

The Reps can lose Flake but no one else. McConnell will count votes and make his decision on calling the vote.

All it is is Flake saying, “Investigate or else I vote ‘no’”

they’ll investigate the same things that the Muller probe looked at. an allegation in search of a crime.

Probably Yes, in my opinion.

He’s facing a tough election. A No vote would likely end his career.

It cant be delayed a week.

If they dont vote this weekend he cant be seated with scotus on monday.

So not sure if this is a ruse, or if they can get the votes without flake. Or both.

Grassely referred to it as a “gentlemens’ agreement” and it wasn’t in the resolution.

Trump already screwed the pooch by going along with it.

No, he starts as soon as he’s confirmed and sworn in.

He may miss a few cases, but not a whole term.

Mr. President, the FBI can NOT investigate.

Joe Biden was absolutely RIGHT in 1991, this is NOT their job.

This will be setting a terrible precedent for all future nominees. Democrats will be able to create endless delay by feeding phony leads to the FBI.

Flake does not control the Senate. It isn’t up to him to delay the Vote in the full Senate.

We need to remember that...

yes that is what I understood.

the problem is that Collins, Murk, and Flake may all balk unless there is at least a cursory FBI investigation.

this hopefully will motivate Trump’s base to turn out en masse in November and throw out: Donnelly, Tester, McCaskill, Nelson, Heitkamp, Stabenow, and Casey.

imagine having 58 to 60 Republicans in the Senate.
