Climate change is fueling heatwaves, hurricanes and floods, gradually making certain places in the US challenging, if not outright miserable, to live in.
Scientists, and some members of the public, are starting to question where in the US will remain comfortable to call home.
The answer, broadly speaking, is north and maybe west. Florida has seen a population boom in recent decades but the southern portion of the state is on course to be submerged by rising seas. The Gulf coast will get supercharged hurricanes, while the south-west and south-east US will be baked by increasingly hostile heat.
Areas towards the north and away from the ocean and that central corridor where you get tornadoes probably look best, said Vivek Shandas, an expert on climate changes impact on cities at Portland State University. Shandas recommends looking to live in a band roughly above the 42nd parallel a line of latitude that divides New York and Pennsylvania and forms the southern borders of Oregon and Idaho.
Places close to a reliable source of water without being flood-prone as the seas rise are attractive, such as areas near the Great Lakes and the Pacific north-west. Seattle doesnt break 90F that often so itll be nothing like Phoenix in terms of tolerability of heat, said Shandas. Places like Portland, Oregon, and Boise, Idaho, will be relatively safeguarded, apart from a bit of wildfire smoke.
There will be bastions elsewhere. Cincinnati, for example, is surprisingly good, said Shandas. Its close to the Great Lakes, away from hurricanes, away from the eastern seaboard. It will get more heatwaves, but then again we all will.

Idiot. Don’t you know the sea monsters, created by global warming, will come up from the Gulf of Mexico and up the Ohio River and destroy Cincinnati??
Southern Florida to be submerged? LOLOLOL!!!!
Could you please convince New Yorkers and New Jerseyites of this so they will STOP COMING???
“Climate change is fueling heatwaves, hurricanes and floods, gradually making certain places in the US challenging, if not outright miserable, to live in.”
“Florida has seen a population boom in recent decades but the southern portion of the state is on course to be submerged by rising seas.”
Even the doctored records used by climate change advocates to do not demonstrate that any of these claims are true. The amount of hurricanes, flood and tornadoes have all been on a downward trend in recent decades. And tidal gauges in Florida do not show any recent increase in the rate of sea level rise.
The author, of this article, Oliver Milman obviously does not seem to understand the disproved theory that he advocates. The theory is based on the supposition that increased CO2 in the atmosphere will increase temperatures a very small amount which will increase evaporation of surface waters and increase humidity which will prevent temperatures at night from decreasing as much as they would otherwise.
Water vapor is the major “greenhouse gas” in our atmosphere; the supposed “positive feedback” between CO2 and humidity is the explanation of how an essential trace gas in our atmosphere which currently makes up less than four one thousandths of the atmosphere is capable of causing all of these supposed changes in the climate.
This “theory” was always questionable and defied common sense. To be a “scientific theory” it must be falsifiable, but as we have seen repeatedly, there is no climate or weather phenomena that advocates do not claim supports “climate change”. Even the term “climate change” was coined because “global warming” was not supported by current undoctored data.
PS this thread is missing something.
Wheres Goebbels?
You should move to my adopted hometown of Toadsuck, Arkansas.
The sun always shines in Toadsuck.
Where should you move to save yourself from climate change?

Heaven?
Every time a cow farts a baby seal dies.
Where to move? How about the surface of the planet Venus? It has the kind of toxic atmospheric environment and surface temperatures that would satisfy Climate Change Hypocrites need to justify their self destructive policy goals. We humans will remain here on earth and live a normal life.
I am pretty sure I’ll be fine in CENTEX.
No worry, the locals will leave out offerings of 5-way Chili and the monsters will leave.
Please dont move to Iowa if you buy this. We dont need a moron invasion.
In many parts of the country the difference in average temperature predicted by global warming zealots is less than the difference in average temperature you find if you drive a few miles in your car.
In many parts of New England, the yearly average temperature increases over distances less than 20 miles due to the proximity to the ocean, or local terrain.
And all of us should be less concerned about warming than cooling. Global cooling leads to ice ages, and that is a much greater problem for humanity.
“Where should you move to save yourself from climate change?”
Uh..indoors?
“No worry, the locals will leave out offerings of 5-way Chili and the monsters will leave.”
I’m just hoping the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife sell plenty of sea monster tags. Surely there’ll be recipe sources too.
For those who are concerned about climate change, especially of the man-made variety, I have plenty of suggestions for where they can move. (None within the USA.)
Oddly, those rich and famous celebrities that most loudly advocate for Global Climate Change also have no qualms about owning beach front property in any of the exclusive locations around the world.
What do they know that we do not?
I would suggest they all go to hell.
