Jane Mayer said on Monday that Deborah Ramirez, who accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexually harassing her, told her New Yorker colleague Ronan Farrow that she couldnt be sure of the Supreme Court nominees guilt.
Confronted with a New York Times report indicating Ramirez expressed doubts about Kavanaughs guilt to former Yale classmates, Mayer said Ramirez shared those doubts before they published their bombshell report on Sunday.
To Ronan she said she wasnt absolutely certain, she needed to make certain before she was going to say anything publicly. She remembered the specifics, the graphic specifics, and she tried to remember for sure who that man was who was in her face, she told MSNBCs Joe Scarborough. With all due respect to the New York Times, which is the best paper in America, just because they couldnt get the story and speak to her or find the person that we found, who remembered it from back then, doesnt mean its not true.
Ramirez, who opted to come forward after learning Senate Democrats were independently investigating the incident, claims Kavanaugh drunkenly thrust his penis in her face during a dorm party at Yale when he was a freshman.
Kavanaugh has vigorously denied the charge and painted it as a politically motivated smear in the same vein as the allegation that he pinned down Christine Blasey Ford and tried to remove her clothing when they were in high-school.
There are no eyewitness accounts included in the story and several of Kavanaughs friends and roommates from his time at Yale, some of whom were said to have been in the room, released a statement denying that the assault ever took place.
Ford and Kavanaugh are scheduled to testify publicly before the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday.
Okay. Deborah Ramirez can't be sure and the new player, Jane Mayer, can't be sure - and of course Dr. Ford can't be sure.
Bottom line: All these accusations are made by women who "can't be sure". Well, I'm can't be sure I smoked some pot in 1974 before joining the Navy when it was still illegal. But it could be possible if proven by a grudge witness.
More importantly, as teenager in the 60's, I remember being in some bed at some time (sound familiar?) making out with a girl. I think I may have touched her breast (not sure), but definitely remember her enjoying me "dry-humping" (clothes on) her crotch. She didn't want to go farther so we got up and joined the group. It's what teenagers did in those days.
These girls/women are not innocent.
#3. Ronan’s story on Weinstein was a “Win/Win” one. Women loved it because it exposed powerful man using that power to get sex from women underneath them in the food chain.
Now he’s just another shister journalist trying to peddle lies and crap. Same old, same old.
Does anyone know who his father really is/was? Maybe it was Weinstein for all we know.
Agree, but I will add that I think Ronan is just the face of the operation being told what to do and say. I suspect the kid is toast now having served his real purpose. He can cover Sandra Fluke now.
I felt the same way reading the article. He threw away his credibility just for a cheap shot on Brett.
I doubt a court would take that very seriously.
I think your analysis is wrong. If you want to find out how wrong just go to some event where women are exposing their genitals, such as a performance of Hair, or a strip club and go ahead and touch them. I think the DA will take it very seriously.
I don't know why we're talking about something that probably never happened or it it did didn't involve Kavanaugh, but she alleges that the man came up to her and shoved his penis towards her or "thrust it in her face." That could be considered assault itself, as well as indecent exposure. She says she pushed him away, a somewhat natural reaction.
Thrusting can be construed assault even if you don't connect (which would make it battery). Even without the thrusting or shoving in her direction, if you are walking around naked in what was most likely not your room, you aren't likely to be successful if you bring an assault case because someone pushes you away.
It is also possible that Ronan was 'fed' the information through back channels because Weinstein told Hillary NO, when she asked for another 'favor'.
That's what happens when you pass out with your head propped up by the men's urinal at a party.
Somebody coming up to you and thrusting private parts in your face is part of the experience if you chose to sit in the front row.
Good luck with claiming that is an assault, or some kind of crime.
What the hell school did you go to?
Nobody I know expects to go to a party and have someone shove their junk at them.
You may have some special reason for being so insistent about this, but I don't and I'm done with this topic.
Personally I don’t think that there’s enough there there to get a grip on it......so to speak ;’}
She wants the Money Honey.
“Mr. Carter, I think I have a way out of this. We, uh, call the police, and we have ‘em send over one of their sketch artists. And Miss Balbricker can give a description. We can put up “Wanted” posters all over school... “Have you seen this prick? Report immediately to Beulah Balbricker. Do not attempt to apprehend this prick, as it is armed and dangerous. It was last seen hanging out in the girls’ locker room at Angel Beach High School.”
Love that movie!.................
