Christine Blasey Ford, accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, agrees to Senate testimony about sexual assault claim

  • Christine Blasey Ford, a California professor at the center of a sexual assault accusation against U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has agreed to testify to representatives of the Senate Judiciary Committee sometime next week.
  • The details have yet to be worked out, but it could mean the end of a lengthy and emotional political fight that has stalled Kavanaugh's nomination.

Below is the full text of the letter Ford's legal team sent to Senate staffers: [From the bottom of the link]

Dr. Ford accepts the Committee's request to provide her first-hand knowledge of Brett Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct next week. Although many aspects of the proposal you provided via email, on September 21, 2018, at 2:33 pm, are fundamentally inconsistent with the Committee's promise of a fair, impartial investigation into her allegations, and we are disappointed with the leaks and the bullying that have tainted the process, we are hopeful that we can reach agreement on details. Can we set up a time for later this afternoon to continue our negotiations?

    Sincerely,

    Debra S. Katz

I often wonder WHY such posters are even here. They don’t even pretend to try to keep up, they spout DEM talking points and yet, claim to be “CONSERVATIVES”, and whether they’ve been here a short or a very long time, obviously haven’t managed to learn much of anything at all about politics, how our government works, nor anything else. :-(

It’s too bad you weren’t. We need to let these idiots in DC be drained.

You have summed up the situation and my frustrations perfectly. Once again, Trump is having to do everything completely by himself with no backup whatsoever.

“Nothing has changed, this is BS, now is the time for Grasslwy to end this joke.”

Ya think???

The problem is, Grassley is going to allow this charade to continue.

I am so sick of the GOP. Last night’s deadline should have been the last one. This is too ridiculous and they are looking like fools. I’m embarrassed to say I’m a Republican. And Trump is having to deal with the midterms completely by himself, and being sabotaged back in DC.

Still waiting for an official response from Grassley. No response would be the best response. The latest deadline was reached with no definitive decision.

She is obviously not going to testify and Grassley knows it. Her testimony or even some glimmer of statement would have been done long ago.

Thanks. Never understood what any of it had to do with the mid terms.

So, Thursday it is. Gee, isn’t that special they don’t work on Fridays, much less weekends like us serfs do.

“Thursday is still 40 days until the election.”

True, but don’t forget after it’s released from committee, it has to go to the full Senate for debate and a vote. I have no idea how long that process will take.

I doubt this is all Grassley’s doing. There is Flake and 2-3 other wishy washy republicans that are pressuring him behind the scenes. Yea she basically didn’t agree to anything. And YES they will continue to negotiate up to and during the hearing.

Once she had 3-3 powerful lawyers, the Anita Hill/Clinton Fixer on board, no way was that group not going to allow her to decline. Too much fame and fortune and money for them.

By Wednesday or Thursday, that team will have her coached magnificently. Her memories will have returned, and she will remember more details. They will run her through mock hearing preparations. She will be well prepared.

How come no one on the Repukes side has said, “There is a credible accusation against Keith Ellison, if he drops out of his race we will follow that standard”. A few hours or Democrats getting angry at the notion that they are the same and Republicans questioning what the difference is should really make this exciting. Keith, as he is inclined would pull his race card if the Dems ever asked him to take one for the team. If he did take a hit for the team the Repukes can say, ‘next time there is credible accusation against a Republican candidate AG in Minnesota we will stop his campaign’. Hold the vote, confirm Kavannah and get the Dem base mad at their politicians for allowing it to happen. Depress their vote. Win the election and have Trump fire the DOJ crooks
...That is how you play politics..

Useless

I think what they want is for the republicans to just hold the vote so they can say Republicans ignored this woman - then cry foul over their manufactured bullsh$t.
