HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) - A New Haven woman was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting a Hamden deli owner over the amount of meat in her sandwich.
Police say that at around 3 p.m., officers responded to the Krauszer's Food Store at 36 Fairview Avenue on the report of an assault.
An investigation revealed that 32-year-old Regina Solomon was upset at the price of a sandwich so she went behind the deli counter and began yelling at the clerk about the amount of meat in the sandwich.
Solomon and another man, who has not been identified, then tried to leave the store without paying for that sandwich and a calzone.
When the store owner attempted to intervene, Solomon allegedly "grabbed a belt off the rack" and began hitting the owner multiple times. The unidentified man then punched the store owner several times.
The store owner sustained injuries to his arms and hands in the assault.
Shorty later, officers were able to identify and arrest Solomon. She was charged with robbery, assault and larceny. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.
Police are still searching for the man involved in the assault. He is described as being a tall, black male with braided hair.

There was a reason, back in the day, why we had the laws we did. Those laws weren't born in a vacuum. It would be nice to bring those laws back, and restore civil society. Our society is turning into the law of the jungle.
