EXCLUSIVE: Woman Who Was High School Friend of Kavanaugh’s Calls Claim 'Fishy’

EXCLUSIVE: Woman Who Was High School Friend of Kavanaugh’s Calls Claim of Sexual Assault ‘Absolutely Fishy’

A friend who graduated high school the same year as Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh says she could not picture him in the situation described by the woman who accuses him of sexually assaulting her when they were teens.

The allegation is “absolutely fishy,” Lisa Molina Heaps told The Daily Signal.

“It’s interesting, even in those small social circles in Washington, D.C., private boys and girls schools, there were certain people who had reputations and people that had crazy reputations, people that had reputations for being partiers, things like that. He did not,” Heaps, 53, said Wednesday of Kavanaugh in a phone interview.

Heaps said she graduated from the all-girls Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in 1983, the same year Kavanaugh graduated from the all-boys Georgetown Preparatory School.

“He had a reputation of being a responsible, kind, respectful person, the kind of person you would probably want to date,” Heaps said.

Heaps is one of 65 women who knew Kavanaugh when he attended Georgetown Prep and signed a letter published Sept. 14 that vouches for the character of the Supreme Court nominee.

“We all partied a little bit,” Heaps told The Daily Signal, but the allegation of sexual assault is “absolutely fishy.”

Another signer of the letter, Missy Carr, said in an interview Tuesday with The Daily Signal that she knew Kavanaugh at the time, and could not imagine him in “the scenario that is being described … even under the influence of alcohol.”

Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh’s accuser, now a 51-year-old research psychologist in Northern California, told The Washington Post that Kavanaugh held her down, groped her, and tried to remove her clothes in a bedroom during a summer party in the early 1980s in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Ford said Mark Judge, a classmate of Kavanaugh’s, was present during the alleged assault at a house party attended by a small group of teens, and that both Judge and Kavanaugh were drunk at the time.

Ford reportedly wrote a confidential letter in July describing the incident and sent it via Rep. Anna G. Eshoo, D-Calif., to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., who is on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The last-minute accusation postponed the committee’s scheduled vote Thursday on Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, which then would go to the Senate floor.

Ford revealed her identity for the article published Sunday by The Washington Post.

Kavanaugh, 53, has twice issued absolute denials of ever doing such a thing, the second time Monday after Ford’s name came out.

Judge also has said the incident didn’t happen.

Ford is calling for an FBI investigation of her accusation before appearing before the Judiciary Committee, despite its invitation to her to testify.

Kavanaugh, a federal appeals court judge since 2006, was expected to testify Monday before the committee.

“It is not right that at the 11th hour, this is brought forward. It is absolutely a last-ditch effort by people who don’t want him nominated to derail his nomination,” Heaps said. “Absolutely, it’s obvious to me. And they can say all that they want that it wasn’t, but it’s clear to most people.”

Speaking of Ford’s accusation, Feinstein told reporters Wednesday that she “can’t say everything is truthful, I don’t know.”

Heaps said she signed the letter with her 64 peers who knew Kavanaugh when he attended Georgetown Prep because she believes in his character. She said:

What made me sign it is, I have been following the proceedings because, well, I follow this stuff anyway, but more so because I knew Judge Kavanaugh, Brett, in high school. And I was sad to see how he was being treated, even before this [accusation] came out. The process has become so politicized, truly it saddens me that people get treated the way that they get treated.

When this accusation came out, we rallied around him because we felt that this was not something that could be true of this person, of Brett. It was out of character.

She never knew Ford, Heaps said, but her opinion of Kavanaugh has not changed.

“Everyone wants to know, ‘Do you still support him … even after Dr. Ford reveals her name?’ and the answer is yes,” Heaps said.

The woman in the article did not call him “fishy,” she called the allegations against him fishy in light of his reputation. It is a completely misleading headline.

The headline and the story are correct. Neither one implies Kavanaugh is 'fishy'

Only states the "allegation is "fishy"

To take a line from the movie KITTEN WITH A WHIP, “All I have to do is mess my hair and scream! One look at me, and who would believe you!”

The Dems have found someone who will mess her hair and scream, about thirty five years after the so-called incident.

And THAT means that you knew ALL of the parents of the kids and the kids who went to private school back then, does it?

What about all of the kids, from all over this nation, who went/go to elite private schools, are they your "overlords" as well?

Psssssssssssssssssssssssst...the Ford b**ch is not in any role in D.C., doesn't have any say in our government and neither do the vast majority of such people.

And many people in government never went to such a school.

You're now slamming Kavanaugh and Gorsuch now, with your stupid posts. WHY?

So any woman can make a decades old, unproven claim about a Supreme Court nominee and put the nomination on hold? It’s a terrible way to run a government. It’s complete insanity.
The answer to this is so obvious; all Mrs. Kavenaugh has to do to put paid to this is simply point out that her husband is the victim of a vast political conspiracy - and if she is OK with Judge Kavenaugh, that is all that matters.

For extra credit, she can add, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Then - according to precedent (which as they have made clear is beloved of Democrats, see Roe v. Wade) - not only is Judge Kavenaugh entirely exonerated, but Mrs. Kavenaugh would stand to be nominated for president of the United States.

There have been several internet posts that she was a slut in high school and college...and her portrayal of ending up in an upstairs bedroom with 2 inebriated young men without another female suggests to me only one conclusion. She wanted to have sex with 2 guys...why else would she put herself in that position???????

I think the key is to personally rise above *caring* about hurts and resentments.

It's ridiculous to expect individuals to truly 'love' others by whom they have been horribly wronged. But I think we have a duty to exercise control over our own emotions, and distance ourselves from - somehow transmute - hatred, resentment. Those emotions do us no good, they only hurt us; and they don't even any score. Only God, through His law, evens scores, in His time and way.

I was very impressed by something I saw here the other day, an article by Andrew McCarthy in which he quoted a story that Judge Bork used to tell:

"As he viewed Thomas’ “high-tech lynching” in horror, Bork recalled, a friend of his, the iconic Irving Kristol, approached and asked him what was happening. “The end of civilization,” the judge sadly quipped.

“Of course it is,” Kristol deadpanned. “But it’ll take a long time. Meanwhile, it’s still possible to live well.”

Though I don't agree entirely with McCarthy's article, I find that story very meaningful.

“Cindy S. Ford is a pawn”

I don’t think so. I think she is a serious activist for the left.

“Has anyone come forward knowing or even having dated Ford? What do they say? It is interesting and telling that no one has.”

You’re talking about half the males in the DelMarVa area.

That is a most excellent illustration of this entire thing.

I really wish these people would get their comeuppance. I believe in Justice (capital J) as an entity and they’ve gotten a free ride for far too long.

Feinstein deserves to be thrown off the committee, heck throw Flake off too.

Both my wife and I are in our 50’s. When she was in high school a boy got into her bedroom window and began feeling her up when she was asleep. She woke up, smacked him and he left. She never told her parents, because they would have never believed her because of who it was. She remembers exactly who it was, but not what she was doing earlier that day. With that being said, I do feel that every accusation does need to be heard. The way that the Rats have delayed this one is beyond shameful, kinda wants me to dismiss it right away. Why can’t Feinstien be censured or something?

Well, in this case, we’ve heard the accusation. And if you do choose to accuse someone publicly, you have to be willing to stand by what you’ve done.

It appears that this woman won’t testify under oath! and I will not allow a man’s life and reputation to be destroyed by a wimpy woman who could possibly be simply lying from political or venal motivations; and who hasn’t got the courage to tell her story in public, swearing to its truthfulness.

The onus is on the accuser. That may have been an unfortunate fact in your wife’s situation and at her age at the time, but it is the fact under our system.

The woman who is accusing Judge K is not a ‘high school’ girl. She’s a grown (mature?) woman who has decided to stick herself and her very vague story Out There. Let her step up and stand by it.
