Held in Sweden's second-largest city of Gothenburg, the two-day Statement Festival, forbids men but not transgender people. It was announced last year after police received four rape and 23 sexual assault reports at Sweden's largest Bravalla Festival, which was cancelled this year as a result.
"What do you think about us creating an awesome festival where only non-men are welcome until ALL men learn how to behave?" Swedish comedian Emma Knyckare, who founded the Statement Festival, tweeted at the time.
Located inside an industrial building in Gothenburg's harbour, only female bands are performing and neither male security guards nor journalists are allowed to enter.
Rebecka Ljung, spokeswoman for the festival, told AFP "thousands" of women were expected to attend the festival.

So, where are the women at this festival? All I see are a bunch of freaks.

Those pictures kill my sterotypes about Swedish women. They all look like Democrats.
When something breaks, fix it yourselves. After all, you can do ANYTHING a man can do. Right?
Wasn’t the raping and sexual assaults primarily from immigrants from countries where Islam is the primary religion? Why ban all men when the problem is not simply men but men from cultures where this behavior is acceptable?

What is left unsaid, is that sexual crimes were committed by Muslim men at past events.
The issue is not that men in general don’t behave around women, the issue is that Muslim men will not behave. But political correctness forbids us to say that.

Imagine how it would be if anyone ever did a straight men only event in this era of PC.

Not that Swedish women are anything to write home about, but the MEN there deserve the BLAME they’re getting for being part of the loading up of their country with Third World types.
In this case, their ‘punishment’ is being locked out of social events, not because they’re (directly) dangerous to the women there, but because the Third World men, who were imported by millions while the Swedish men sat on their asses, are indeed very dangerous to the women there. And the Swedish men can look forward to being locked out of many other events in the future, along with swimming pools, and God knows what else. And they deserve it.
Of course expecting European men to put something this simple together, and realize that it is THEIR FAULT for allowing this to happen to their country, is way too much to ask.
