President Donald Trump announced Friday that he'll come to Texas in October to hold a "major rally" for Sen. Ted Cruz in the biggest stadium in Texas.

I'm picking the biggest stadium in Texas we can find. As you know, Ted has my complete and total Endorsement. His opponent is a disaster for Texas - weak on Second Amendment, Crime, Borders, Military, and Vets!" Trump tweeted.

They've become close allies since Trump's election. Cruz has wrapped himself in the president's tax and immigration policies and lauded him for stocking federal courts with conservatives.

Cruz responded:...."Terrific! Texas will be glad to see you. Working together, we’ve won major victories for the people of Texas: historic tax cuts, repealing job-killing regulations, rebuilding the military & confirming strong constitutionalist judges. And as a result, the Texas economy is booming!"

At least one venue in Texas holds more than 180,000, so that's a Texas-sized promise.

Not sure I buy O’Rourke has ‘massive appeal’...still one should probably consider this and get behind Cruz. As I see it the Dems will sink to any level to get Cruz out of the entire picture of politics.....they certainly wouldn’t want him running for Pres or VP again.... ever!

Trumps rallies are always a ‘show of force of the American people’ as much as supporting Trump..... It is a visual way to push back against their ‘resistance and obstruction’. But I don’t forget they’re target is spot on Trump as he represents US. It no longer matters if the msm shows his rallies......there’s so many bypassing them now the word is easily out there to see.

O’Rourke is Irish American ............endorsed Hillary Clinton for President plus he’s Pro-Abortion, supports planned parenthood and LGBT....and Universal Healtcare as a human right...and on and on typical Progressive liberal.

He only graduated with a Liberal Arts degree in English literature....like those who don’t want to do the hard work. From all I’ve read is the guy has no real accomplishments other than running for offices. Looks like he’s planning to obtain wealth via political offices he can run for.

“Because he wants the biggest venue to stump for a former rival?”

Yes. Because that rival (whom I supported) went to the Republican National Convention and gave a disgraceful, non-endorsing speech for the party’s nominee.

I believe Sen Cruz’s problem now is because so many Texas Republicans were sorely disappointed with his behavior towards Pres DJT after the 2016 election. Sen Cruz wanted to get into the Big Boys game and wasn’t up to it because of inexperience with a Street Fighter like Pres DJT. That could be overlooked; less likely to be overlooked was his lack of respect for the office that Pres DJT is holding. I hope he wins this re-election and more importantly I hope he learns from his mistakes. Beto signs are all over my area. I will be going to the local Republican Party office to get my Ted Cruz sign and see if they can use a phone-volunteer. Beto’s people have been very busy, even contacting me via my Iphone. I advised them that I would never vote for a Democrat under any circumstance and with such information they can figure out who I’m voting for this November.
