Who Really Started the Trump-McCain Feud?
American Thinker ^ | 08/31/2018 | Brian C. Joondeph

With Senator John McCain's recent passing, the Trump-McCain feud has heated up. It's really a manufactured kerfuffle, as one party is saying little, and the other party has departed from the living, no longer able to participate in the feud, except posthumously via the media.

Leave it to the media to resurrect the controversy between the late senator and the U.S. president as a means of bashing President Trump, whom the media detest. It is also a distraction from the stock market breaking records left and right, a new and better trade deal with Mexico, a country that the media constantly tell us hates Trump and won't do business with him, Bruce Ohr's congressional testimony, and other news the media would prefer to ignore.

Trump has been criticized over the past four days for his response to Senator McCain's passing. He wasn't personal enough, they say, even though the president appropriately tweeted, "My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!"

Then the media fussed and pouted over how long the flag over the White House should be flown at half-mast. The flag flew that way appropriately after McCain's death, but the time period wasn't enough. CNN probably wants it at half-mast permanently until Trump is out of office, although another six and a half more years at half-mast might be a bit excessive.

McCain was just a bitter narcissist.

If he wasn’t the son and grandson of 4 star Admirals, he’d be NOTHING.

How did he do at Annapolis? (would he have got in and/or graduated if not for dad/granddad?)

How did he do as a pilot? (would he have been one if not for dad/granddad?) How many planes did he crash?

How did he conduct himself as a POW? (yes, beaten, but what POW wasn’t?) If his conduct was so exemplary, why are all his records sealed? Release them and show the world once and for all how great he was.

If he was so great, how does a former POW and son/grandson of 4 stars, and an Annapolis grad only make O6?

How did he conduct himself in his Navy career after he returned?

Remember Keating 5?

I think known history shows McCain to be a bad apple, unlike his dad and granddad.

I wonder what the unknown history shows?

The quip came after Luntz challenged Trump over his criticism of McCain’s political career.

The pollster questioned Trump’s verbal attacks given he is a “war hero.”

“I supported McCain for president,” Trump said of McCain’s 2008 GOP presidential campaign.

“He lost and let us down,” Trump said, arguing he had spent $1 million on McCain’s Oval Office bid.

“I’ve never liked him as much after that,” he added. “I don’t like losers.”

Trump was taking issue with McCain’s critique of his July 11 rally against illegal immigration in Phoenix.

McCain argued in an interview published Thursday that the event energized the right wing’s most extreme members.

“It’s very bad,” he said of Trump’s Phoenix rally earlier this month.

“This performance with our friend out in Phoenix is very hurtful,” McCain said.

“Because what he did was he fired up the crazies,” he added. “Now he galvanized them. He’s really got them activated.”

Trump countered Saturday that McCain’s remarks were insulting to the Americans supporting his policies on illegal immigration.

“15,000 people showed up to hear me speak,” Trump said of the Phoenix event, adding that it was “beautiful.”

“He called them all crazy,” he added of McCain. “I know all about crazies, and those weren’t crazies.”

Trump also said he is forcing a national discussion about border security and illegal immigration policies.

“I’m so proud of the fact I got a dialogue started on illegal immigration,” he said. “I’m very happy.”

“I took a lot of abuse,” Trump added of the backlash against his immigration rhetoric. “It turned out I was right.”

Trump sparked international outrage during his 2016 campaign launch last month.

The outspoken billionaire provoked public backlash by harshly criticizing Hispanic immigrants and Mexico on June 16.

“They’re sending people who have a lot of problems,” Trump said during the address at Trump Tower in New York City.

“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists,” he added. “And some, I assume, are good people.”

Trump argued Saturday that politicians should avoid sensitivity while dealing with issues as important as immigration.

“We’re so politically correct we can’t move people anymore,” he said. “We want results, we don’t want tone.”

AF2 is not a plane. It is the call sign for ANY USAF aircraft carrying the Vice President of the United States.
The plane carrying McCains casket and family was a C-32. The call sign I think was SAM 138.

Bob Dole was a true giant of the Senate, a war hero, and a Republican nominee for President.

He won’t get nearly the amount of coverage when he passes, compared to what McCain is getting.

POW status is NOT HERO status.

And yet John received the Bronze Star.

I don’t believe there ever was a “feud” between them, just an understanding.

I think President Trump saw McCain clearly and knows many of McCain’s ‘truths that can never be told’.

McCain, for his part, was McCain.

Personally, I hope we, the people, eventually learn everything that President Trump knows about McCain.

The hero thing is about as stale as he is.

“The feud started the minute Trump stated that he sided with the citizens and the rule of law and intended to enforce the laws and borders.

Erasing them has been McCain’s life work.”

You are right. Trump seized the illegal immigrant issue. Perhaps more important, he recognized the anti-establishment mood and the tea party. McCain was against the tea party and sent the IRS against them. Palin was getting much larger and more enthusiastic crowds than McCain and Trump recognized it. Criticizing McCain sent a message to the tea party and those sick of the establishment. Other than Cruz, he had that side of the track to himself.

McCain was a globalist who represented foreigners as his REAL constituents. An America-first national figure like Donald Trump was worse than Satan to an @sshole like that.

Watch and pass on this video on how McCain used his family ties to get away with murder.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E66O754Pa5E

pass this on to others. McCain is going to release an anti Trump video as soon as he is buried.

The definition of RINO should have a picture of John McCain next to it. Of course McCain started the nastiness with President Trump. President Trump... it is funny when the media acts like they do not remember. McCain started it and now President Trump hit back because that is what he does even if it is not politically expedient.

McCain should have been called out years before. But he was a bully from the time he was a spoiled admirals kid and used to getting his way no matter what kind of crap that he pulled. He never changed from the time he was a little kid.

And U.S. Army Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl was promoted to hard strip Sargent while serving under ‘deserter’ status, will spend no time behind bars and only pay a $10,000 fine for betraying the countrymen who sacrificed their lives to save him.

How will you view him after he is elected to public office, continually betrays his country for decades to come, up to and beyond his death as much as he legally can?

Even El Rushbo missed the fact that McCain hit first by calling Trump-supporters "crazies" and that Trump responded in Trumpian fashion with a quick punch.

Trump responded AFTER the reporter kept stressing the fact McCain was a war hero in response to Trump defending his supporters
