A hurricane warning has been issued for Oahu as Lane continues to track toward the islands as a massive Category 4 storm.
The Big Island and Maui County also remain under a hurricane warning, while Kauai County is under a hurricane watch.
Lane was centered about 260 miles south of Kailua-Kona — or 385 miles south-southeast of Honolulu — and has slowed to just 8 mph.
Hurricane Lane passed just south of the Big Island on Wednesday morning and is now marching northwest, bringing it "dangerously close" to the island chain as a hurricane Thursday through Saturday.
Heavy rains from Hurricane Lane started to impact the Big Island and Maui on Wednesday, triggering flooding in some spots, and forecasters warn the cyclone's "very close" pass on Thursday and Friday is slated to bring strong winds, torrential showers and monster surf to the entire island chain.

Lane versus the volcanos?
When Hurricane Irma came through Florida last year and we had no power for a couple of weeks people were looking for ice like crazy and at night it was so dark. One night I looked out in my yard and saw my solar landscaping lights burning bright and I got a great idea! I went to the Dollar General store and bought about 10 $1.00 solar landscaping lights and put them in the sun in the day in a big pot. At night I put one in each room in an empty plastic soda bottle and they helped light my way around the house. This year I have a lantirn and I know where to go to get ice. Woops! lantirn s/b lantern. I used to work for Northrop Grumman for several years and they had The LANTIRN program there. (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night)so I developed the habit of spelling it with an “i” even referencing a lantern. lol!
In the Pacific, they’re called “typhoon”.
I knew some people who used to work on the LANTIRN. Was very high maintenance at the start so the men working on it added to the motto “It turns night day.. and weekends into sh!t.”

Same with California wildfires.
Maybe the heavy rain from the hurricane will extinguish the volcano and solve that problem.

And many others are leaving. Long lines were seen at airports in Honolulu as hundreds of people were trying to catch flights out of the islands before the storm comes closer.
The 15 airports throughout the state will remain open as long they don’t suffer damage to their infrastructure or the debris “makes flight operations unsafe,” the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in a statement.

Sugar Cane and Pineapples are a thing of the past in Hawaii, at least Commercially.
Maybe that dumbshit Judge in Hawaii can order an injunction.
The “media” could tell us about how the hurricane “flipped” Hawaii so they can “impeach” President Trump.

Kalaheo Coffee Co & Cafe is a great place for breakfast. There are multiple good places to snorkel. We had good luck at Poipu Beach. Everyday we were there the snorkeling was awesome along with sea turtles and Monk Seals
If they are in the Pacific at all, they are typhoons.
