Schmidt: 40 Precent of Americans Have ‘Surrendered Their Intellectual Sovereignty’ to Trump
brietbart ^ | 08/16/2018 | Pam Key

Posted on 08/17/2018 5:15:43 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Deadline,” campaign strategist for former President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) Steve Schmidt said, “40 percent of the country has surrendered their intellectual sovereignty to Donald Trump.”

Schmidt said, “He’s pursuing the only strategy he can pursue, which is try to incite his base. As he incites that base, that base gets smaller, and the majority grows in opposition to Trump, but the smaller base is a harder more intense one. If you go back to inauguration day, Trump has less support today than he did then. His base is smaller. The Republican party is smaller. But it is more faithful and more intense in its loyalty to Trump. Forty percent of the country has surrendered their intellectual sovereignty to Donald Trump.”

He added, “There is for them no such thing as objective truth anymore. What is true is what the leader says is true, what the leader believes is true. Trump has exercised that power and 40 percent of the country has submitted themselves to it. It’s extraordinary and frightening to see, but thank goodness not a majority of the country. In fact, it’s not even close to being a majority of the country.”

These are the same peop;e who gave obama a pass on everything he did and worshipped and gushed over him breathlessly, all the while he was doing nothing to help the country. It’s for certain mental illness.

This is so preposterous. These people live in a permanent state of denial and projection. Whatever they accuse, they are guilty. They accused Russians of Hacking, they leaked. They accused Trump of colluding, they colluded with Russians, British, FBI, CIA, DOJ and others. They accuse of intolerance, they drown out any idea that doesn’t conform to their worldview. They accuse people of surrendering their “intellectual freedom” they refuse to look at the facts of the situation - And now they collude to publish “coordinated” Op-Eds against Trump’s criticism of the media, which sort of proves the point that the media are self-serving, not serving the interests of the people.

Of course it is all political. Their leaders are purely Machiavellian, attempting to rile up their 30% of die-hards.

The next ~2 years are critical to the future of the republic. All people need to declare and defend principles on which we stand. Principle does not bend to the whim of political preference. We all should want an election free from unlawful influence. People of principle should insist on a thorough and complete investigation of all the issues related to the 2016 election - collusion, foreign contributions, misuse or abuse of campaign finance, fraud in inducement of donations, hacking or leaking of political party data, wiretapping campaigns, payments to agents of foreign governments, and collusion between campaigns and candidates and federal agency employees.

Schmidt is a moron. What happened to your hero, Johnny McCain, Stevie? A little boy from Kenya beat his ass for the presidency of the United States. Don’t you be telling me about “intellectual sovereignty” when you gave away our national sovereignty to a communist from Africa.

If Schmidt is correct about the lack of support, then most of the Democrat little people don’t even need to vote. The richer Democrats who are loaded with money and time for politics can provide plenty of votes for the same old, same old midterm elections.

“Intellectual Sovereignty”? We all have surrendered it I suppose. For the Leftist the soverign surrendered to is laziness, the desire to feel intellectual and with the tide of history while really just goinnf with the hive mind. For the conservatives it is reason and evidence. The desire to find the truth. But the only thing surrendered to Trump is the sanity of those who despise him. Their twisted vision of him torments their minds making them more delusional than normal. The

Actually, what “the leader” says and believes is the same as what the people say and believe...

Do we all recall how during the Obama years, almost every friggin day we would learn about something he was doing or had done, enough to shake our heads, only to hear something even worse the next day. You'd hear the frustration in Rush's voice and in the posts here.

Now we have two things going on. Everyday we hear some news on the latest Trump winning, and every day we hear or read some stupid rant from a lefty journalist or elitist.

Dem pollster Larry Sabato says you have to add 10 points to any Trump poll.

Therefore, the president’s approval rating is 60%.

Steverino Schmidt the $hit is angry and butt hurt because the President derailed little Stevie’s GOPe gravy train.

Too bad, so sad.

In once sense he's right, at least, where I'm concerned, and I'd tell him why if I could: As conservative voices are silenced one by one, Trump becomes our only champion they cannot silence. So yes, I'm more devoted to him than ever. And as liberals attack white conservatives more violently than ever, he becomes the only protector. So at this point, he could bomb Manhattan and I'd think, "Well... you know, he had his reasons."

If they don't like this development, I'd suggest they moderate themselves a little, because this idea that his base is shrinking... I don't know where they get it. He hasn't done anything his base disapproves of, and he has done a TON that we do approve of, and hoped for.
