Back when Trump used it, “cov fe’fe” in Google Translate (set to Arabic) would translate to “I will stand up”. In reverse, English to Arabic, “I will stand up” translated to “sawf ‘aqaf”, which makes an interesting bit of speech when said out loud (so f@(k off).

A week or two later it translated differently: “Cov” was still “Will”, but fe’fe became “He stood”. “Sawf ‘aqaf” still translated to “I will stand up”, but since Google changed the “cov fe’fe” translation, the joke didn’t work any more.

As to origins, maybe Trump picked it up in a friendly conversation with one of his translators earlier that day.
