Full title.......................Former Special Ops Official ‘Shocked’ White House Isn’t Considering Stripping Hillary Clinton’s Security Clearance.................

Two retired colonels say former Secretary of State and failed 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should have had her security clearance pulled. One, retired Col. James Williamson, was surprised Clinton was not included in the White House’s announcement that it was considering revoking six former national security officials’ security clearances. The colonels’ organization, OPSEC, twice asked then-Secretary of State John Kerry in 2015 to suspend the security clearances of Hillary Clinton and her aides, Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin, and Jacob Sullivan.

shouldn’t there be a limit to what either could view

Yes, there is a need to know the information before access is granted to it. State Department often overlooked this rule for senior officials.

Her security clearance should have been yanked the instant it was known she was utilizing her own private server. There really is no question about that. If indeed the FBI was interested in “exhonerating” her, that would have been a de minimus action. But of course it was not done. She was in essence granted the exemption to use her own server, AFTER she had signed the standard declaration before assumning the office of the SoS that she understood what “classified” meant and that she understood the ramifications of violating the regs thereon.

Six years later, when Comey announced she had been found to have classified info on said server, the correct action would have been to.....do nothing, of course.

A year later, when she lost the election, her clearance should have been revoked on the spot.

But you see, every potential post-facto revocation we can talk about immediately calls into question why the hell her clearance wasn’t revoked on the prior reg violation. Or the earlier one. Or the prior one. Or the one that came before that.

Sometimes it’s better to leave the security clearance in place and feed the recipient false information. #justsayin

Five eyes program. They can go to New Zealand and see the dirt they have collected on our citizens and there is no record of who, when, why etc. Another program Obama abused. Pretty much the same with Canada, England, and Australia apart of that program.

So am I.

For someone who the FBI found to be extremely careless with classified documentation, you’d think she’d be at the TOP of such a list...

But that would make sense in the REAL world...

You get to keep your security unless action is taken to strip it

I want all of the previous three administration folks stripped

I wonder if they are getting security briefs, like the president, or if they simply have a clearance and could request data, but that request would be reviewed for need. Why, for example, would somebody who is retired “need to know,” say, the disposition of human intel assets in Syria? Or, the estimated number of nuclear weapons in Israel? (Carter revealed the number, which had been a secret since day one. I hope they pulled his clearance.)

The only protection her bathroom server offered was that few were willing to confront that version.

Who is the "they" to which you refer?

“Who is the “they” to which you refer? “

Many top level officials retain their security clearances. The “they” refers to those people who grant those clearances. And, I have no idea who “they” is when it comes to government officials.

“Hillary Clinton” and “stripping” don’t belong in the same sentence.

The ultimate “they” is the President. It's under his executive power that all clearances are issued.

His authority is delegated down to the heads of the Departments and Agencies, who in turn have flunkies actually doing the paperwork.

The system worked well until we elected Commies for the Presidency, and they filled their underling spots with more Commies.

I’m a former intelligence official and I wonder the same thing.

Hey PBS, do you believe everything anyone states about themselves on the internet to be true?

Haha. Somewhat more so on FR, but generally, no.

But I'd appreciate anyone's perspective on the question of clearance vs. access.

They would have to show they have a “need to know”. The problem is anyone who leaks classic Intel to anyone could not be charged with giving it Clapper, Brennan et Al.
