I have a healthy respect for Sewer Rats, not the Rats running the City.

Would have been great if they were cited when they were sighted at the site.

As long as they give each rat $500, they would probably leave.

Atlanta area here. I saw on local CBS affiliate Atlanta ranked #14 in rat population. (You can insert the snark here:____)

Anyway... don’t know if it’s here, but they showed a dog club full of terrier owners that go out at night and turn the dogs loose to do what they’re genetically programmed to do...destroy vermin. I don’t think there’s anything more delightful than seeing a dog fully engaged and enjoying a given job. Total focus.

A really good radio drama about rats is "Three Skeleton Key".

I'm partially to the first Vinnie Price one, myself (Can't remember if it was "Escape" or "Suspense", but there are a handful of versions.

That Vincent Price version always gives me the creeps. I’ve had a rat 🐀 phobia since I read 1984. And the Ben, Willard movies didn’t help 😬

Worse yet, the ‘flees’ from all those rats carry the Obamic Plague.

Even worse than New York City?
Chicago must be really bad, especially since New York has over twice the human population of Chicago.

Chicago used to put dry ice in the sewers to suffocate the rats.

The EPA said that dry ice was not approved for use as a pesticide, so the city stopped.

Fedzilla strikes again.

In the mid to last 60's there was "The Tiger Bar" in Klongtoey (the harbor district,) which had dirt floors. You could throw a cat, rat, or dog to the outside though numerous gaps or holes in the walls. It was NOT a classy place at all.

The entrance way was though a gigantic Tigers mouth. The "Tiger Bar" was mostly frequented by merchant marine sailors, and occasionally some dumb ass ASA guys who were slumming more than usual.

The Rats were almost pets, having distinct personalities. Some of them even responded to the names they'd been given.
