I don't know about that. I learned this from a famous trial lawyer decades ago. Speak in the third person, so you can't be directly accused of slander or libel. These days you can count on someone digging through your Internet trail to see if you incriminate yourself, if accused of a crime. You go assault someone (in self defense of course), it's a sure bet someone will try to pin a narrative on you that you're a bigot or whatever and preplanned to do hostilities. Unless it was someone else's words.
Of course, if you're a leftist liberal then nothing will stick. It's conservatives that need to watch their back. As a side note, I've heard others say that liberals should be maimed and tortured anywhere they're encountered, of course I wouldn't advocate that, just saying what I've heard.
