If We Want to End the Border Crisis, It’s Time to Give Trump His Wall (the winds are shifting)

So give him his f@#!ing wall. He won the election. He is owed this. It may never be completed; it may not work, as hoped. But it is now the only way to reassure a critical mass of Americans that mass immigration is under control, and the only way to make any progress under this president. And until the white working and middle classes are reassured, we will get nowhere. Don’t give it to him for nothing, of course. It should come with a full path to citizenship for all DACA immigrants, as in the proposed deal in January that Trump first liked and then reneged on, under Miller’s toxic influence. But it should also go bigger: a legislative fix for Flores; massive new funding for detention facilities, humane family-friendly housing, and, above all, much more money for the immigration legal system, now completely overwhelmed by asylum cases. If Democrats can show they want to deal with the humanitarian problem as a whole, and are willing to compromise on the wall, they’ll be in a much stronger position going forward than in the recent past.*

I’d love the wall as much as anyone. But, why do we focus, so much on the f*cking wall?

Why aren’t we focusing on the draw that lures them all here? The welfare benefits. And it goes for both the illegals and the “refugees” that are coached on all the right things to say when interviewed. I know that because I’ve seen it, firsthand, while working in Iraq. NGO personnel telling them what to say when they are interviewed.

Maybe someone can assist. Is there not a court ruling that states that ALL kids, illegal or not, have a right to go to school in the US, once they are here. If so, our taxes go up. We pay for the breakfast and lunch. Have to hire interpreters and have ESL classes, all at our costs and we don’t get to decide. Our houses miraculously are worth 25% more the minute illegals move in.

God forbid, we ever determine that the 14th Amendment does NOT guarantee, Birthright Citizenship, and most of this crap goes away, anyway. Take away that citizenship and the benefits that go with it, and the problem starts to take care of itself.

Start taking away the economic bait, whether it be jobs or Section 8 & EBT, and they’ll stop. The Wall is just a bonus at that point.

Trump is not a dictator. It’s not his wall.

It’s our wall, and we are doing the dictation.

The wall is apolitical and will remain in place and keep working even if the USA elects another Marxist like Obama.

There's also the fact the left hates Trump so much they barely see straight.

Trump took the only actions he could legally take and took the issue away from them.

Threatening Barron and harassing people didn't help either.

I’m with you. And like I said, I’d love to see one. They work everywhere else they’ve ever been used. Hell, the Macedonians and Hungarian’s are using a chain link fence, and it’s working. But, getting rid of the draw, will help dramatically. Take away their jobs. Let them rely on donations from all the folks that, supposedly love them so much, and they’ll be caravan’s of them, heading South.

Short of a military action, is there any other option to stop the invasion of illegal aliens than the wall??

The conservative immigration bill fell only 20 votes short

One of the major reasons that happened is because of amendments that watered it down from the original Bob Goodlatte bill. That is why Louie Gohmert voted against it.

It is interesting that because he is a suffer of Trump Derangement Syndrome, even a supposedly intelligent liberal even a virulent Trump hater like Sullivan still doesn’t understand what happened. He still thinks he and his anti Americans made Trump back down ( see Uncle Remus The Rabbit in the Brier Patch). Nevertheless, this is one enemy who is ready to cave and we ought to welcome him to the basement.

>>and the only way to make any progress under this president

When they say “progress”, they mean “Progress(ivism)” and they aren’t getting any of that crap under Trump.

But, we’ll take that wall now!

President Trump’s DACA deal offered amnesty, but they had to prove they had no criminal record and were the kind of citizens this country desires.

>>xcept..... .the President promised that Mexico would pay for the wall.

He meant indirectly. No serious person thought that Mexico would send us a check for the wall.

>>He is now insisting that American taxpayers pay for the wall.

Consider it an investment.

>>That was not the deal

Getting a functional wall was the deal.

Waiting for him to veto any spending bill without complete funding. Still. Waiting. How many dollars in spending without even a serious veto threat?

I consider that to be rationalization.

I completely understand the President’s reasoning for the need for a wall. He said over and over and over that Mexico would pay.

Now then, If he was blowing smoke about such an important part of his overall program for MAGA, what else is just blowing smoke?

He has completely abandoned the concept of making Mexico pay. The concept that comes to mind is “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”

It would seem to me that to at least make an effort, he could repurpose money or aid to Mexico. Just $2 or $3 billion would make the point and build some wall.

I am a fervent supporter of the President but consider his claims to make Mexico pay an unprotected flank subject to attack

I believe that, one way or another, Mexico will ultimately wind up paying for the wall; even after the fact. PDJT does NOT forget.

>>I consider that to be rationalization.

It is rationalization. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. You should understand by now that Trump says big things as part of his negotiating process.

Example:

Trump: I will build a wall.

Left: there will be no wall.

T: The wall will be huge and magnificent.

L: We said no wall. We will withhold funding.

T: Mexico will pay for it.

L: Huh, what?? How?

T: I will tax Mexico. I will tax money sent to Mexico. I will cut off aid to Mexico. By the time I am done hurting Mexico, they will cut me a check to make me stop.

L: Hang on there pal. If you build a wall, Americans are paying for it.

T: OK. We’ll take that. Fire up the bulldozers to start clearing ground.

Bottom line: a wall will pay for itself. It is an investment in the continuation of Western Civilization.

I don’t disagree but there is no, that is, 0 evidence that Mexico pay anything.

To the contrary, Mexico is largely to fault for the present flap over illegals at the border. Mexico is not even being challenged much less brought to task for the formal Mexican support for the illegal invasion.

If Mexico was slapped violently about the head and shoulders there might not even be a need for the wall. Mexico is the National security risk
