Analyzing medical death rate data over an eight-year period, Johns Hopkins patient safety experts have calculated that more than 250,000 deaths per year are due to medical error in the U.S. Their figure, published May 3 in The BMJ, surpasses the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC’s) third leading cause of death — respiratory disease, which kills close to 150,000 people per year...Fast facts:

Shouldn't doctors concentrate on medical errors, since a significant portion of them know absolutely nothing about guns?

and it is a closed system. Doctors will review other doctors to see if the medical error caused any harm. expect for the most flagrant or where the offending physician has no ‘political ‘power will other doctors go against one of their own. As in the similar story where the FBI was to investigate whether the FBI engaged in illegal acts.
When a patient dies the police are never involved unless another doctor (coroner) says it not a natural death. Most do not even make it to the coroner. Doctors are getting away with wrongful deaths all of the time.
