The boys had once been friends before MS-13 began recruiting one of them. Now, as other students streamed to class one April morning at William Wirt Middle School in Riverdale, Md., the two teens squared off in the third-story bathroom — a fight captured by another student on his cellphone.
The MS-13 recruit threw a punch at his former friend’s head. His opponent ducked and tackled the 15-year-old, their sneakers squealing as they tumbled to the green tile floor.
“I like that,” someone shouted off-camera as the recruit tried to cover his head.
“That look like it hurt,” someone wrote under the video, which was uploaded to Instagram on April 19 and has been viewed more than 400 times.
Gang-related fights are now a near-daily occurrence at Wirt, where a small group of suspected MS-13 members at the overwhelmingly Hispanic school throw gang signs, sell drugs, draw gang graffiti and aggressively recruit students recently arrived from Central America, according to more than two dozen teachers, parents and students. Most of those interviewed asked not to be identified for fear of losing their jobs or being targeted by MS-13.
Although administrators deny Wirt has a gang problem, the situation inside the aging, overcrowded buildinghas left some teachers so afraid that they refuse to be alone with their students. Many said they had repeatedly reported incidents involving suspected gang members to administrators, only to be ignored — claims supported by documents obtained by The Washington Post.
“Teachers feel threatened but aren’t backed up. Students feel threatened but aren’t protected,” one educator said. “The school is a ticking time bomb.”
The gang’s presence at Wirt comes at a time when the Trump administration has declared war on MS-13, and communities throughout the country are confronting a surge in MS-13-related violence.

With the progressives infesting the courts the only way to deal with those that can’t be deported (in the case of MS13) will be for the neighbors whom they terrorize to rise up in arms against the gangs and lynch them ... and then everyone be everyone else’s alibi.
Not sure that can even be done in the age of smart phones.
Some progressive may see that and scream racism but that’s not true since the overwhelming majority of habitual criminals prey on people who look they they do and live in the same neighborhoods. Relatively rare is the criminal scumbag who as a matter of preference goes far from home to victimize people who may not look like them.
Of course it’s far more likely that the gangs will continue to infect the ethics and sympathies of their non-criminal neighbors and that codes against snitching along with advantageous to the gangs narratives will prosper instead.
An old fashioned Roman proscription law where the government declares a state of emergency suspending civil rights to a trial then publicly posts a list of people, names and clear pictures, declared to be enemies of the state giving the citizens the right/duty to kill them on site and take all their stuff tax free.

We used to live in Hyattsville, which abuts Riverdale. It’s essentially impossible to get a carry permit in MD, but I appreciate the idea. I knew things were breaking bad when the local mom-and-pop beer shop, owed by Australian legal immigrants, put their cashiers in a bullet-proof cage.
So glad to have moved to northern VA, where I can carry legally, in spite of the illegal alien gangs here.

I know this wouldn’t be legal under current laws, but I would support federal legislation declaring MS-13 to be a terrorist organization, with a mandatory death penalty for membership. Other violent gangs could be added to the roster as they are identified as terrorist organizations.
The only defense against the charge would be that one was forced through threats to person or family. And the evidence for that claim that defense would require ratting out other members.
Having an MS-13 tattoo anywhere on your body would suffice as irrefutable evidence of membership.

When my daughter was in high school the Merc did an exposé on gangs in schools. The principal straight faced told the reporter they had no gangs at his school. That despite all the boundary markets visible around the school and the police being called out to the school the day the article broke to break up a gang fight

Of course, Pelosi and the dems love MS-13, so they may be protecting them.
The problem with Maryland is it is liberal. Maryland voted for Hillary even though they have a “moderate” Republican governor.
President Trump is working to deal with MS-13 and the related issues of border security, while Democrats and RINOs throw up roadblocks at every opportunity.
Liberals will endanger children by their policies and then blame conservatives.
They would rather children die than cooperate with President Trump.
They’d probably rather have nuclear war than give him credit for his progress with North Korea.

However, it’s just me but I am always oppositional when I hear or see “we” for something.
“We” should have stopped the evil aliens coming in and their gangs are now destroying us. But “we” are innocent-—the liberals did it. They are guilty.
WE declined to take vigilante violent action. We waited for the “justice system and rules of immigration and courts to rule against sanctuary cities and all that. Never happened.
We chose not to fight and break the law. But WE didn’t cause this. I don’t know why God is allowing this but I still seek His reasons.
I still fully agree with you, however.
