Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein easily secured the top runoff spot in her re-election race despite a challenge from the Left on Tuesday.
Progressives boosted state Sen. Kevin de Leons bid against Feinstein, urging the veteran senator to step aside and make room for the next generation. But Feinsteins support in California runs deep and de Leon has been unable to overcome his name recognition deficit. She led de Leon, who also advanced to the general election, by more than 30 points.

>>Oh, a challenge from the left? What the hell do/did they propose? LOL!<<
I picture a young bernie sanders on libtard steroids.
Like McCain, she wants to Di in office.
I guess Venezuela is to the left of Diane Feinstein.
And the Democrat Party in California is turning full frontal Chavista.
So for the second election in a row, no Republican will be on the ballot for U.S. Senator from California.
Democrats do love their Senators corrupt and senile!
Democrats basically have shut out opponents from other parties through this travesty. In California you can now choose between a leftist Democrat and a far-leftist Democrat; no other options.

“...In California you can now choose between a leftist Democrat and a far-leftist Democrat; no other options...”
Yes, this is EXACTLY why the Sacramento RATS put this horrible legislation in front of the mindless lib voters in California. They knew it would be approved by the parasitic electorate and further lock out Repub candidates. It is too bad that things will have to get REALLY BAD in the state before even this part of the electorate ever votes for what is right for California.
A tiny ray of light did happen — we actually got a Repub governor candidate (Cox) on the ballot and by a larger margin than was expected. He needs to campaign VERY HEAVILY against the state-destroying libs. One can hope.
WHERE ARE YOU FREE REPUBLIC SUPPORTERS?
Im so ashamed of all you comment readers and no supporters.
20, 10, 5. COME ON! Anything to keep FR for us.
FREE REPUBLIC IS THE ONLY PLACE WE HAVE LEFT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON!
PLEASE DONATE.....PLEASE!
Oh good. Her and Ruth B. Ginzburg can both collect spider webs together.
The left is so talent poor; they stay in office till they die. Hi Pelosi and McCain! Yes; I consider McCain a leftist despite the R wrong by his name.
” He needs to campaign VERY HEAVILY against the state-destroying libs.....
Have you listened to Cox’s radio ads???? Since the beginning of the year he has been treating California Democrats like they were “Crooked Hillary” thereby “out-Trumping” Trump.
I expect this to continue throughout the 2018 midterms.
Gavin Newsom is vulnerable even in lefty California. As in ALL midterms turnout is key.......
“I consider McCain a leftist despite the R wrong by his name.”
McCain thinks he is a “contrarian.” What he is however is a full blown lefty caught out in the open with a sheep’s skin draped over his far left spoiler record.
“The left is so talent poor; they stay in office till they die. “
Unfortunately, Fineswine is the “lone exception” here. In the Senate’s “Top Seven Octogenarians,” she’s the only RAT. She’s followed by six RINOs, Grassley, Hatch, Shelby, Inhofe, Roberts, and McStain.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
She’s not Raza enough for today’s California democrats.
I wish that were true, but I think you're dreaming.
“I wish that were true, but I think you’re dreaming.”
I think Cox appeals to both Repubs and most Independents. There could be some Democrat crossovers if he keeps up his Trump like rhetoric.
I think, post Korea summit, Trumps appeal will skyrocket.
In the end it all depends on these factors AND turnout. I don’t believe there is a “blue wave” out there.....even in California.
No, not dreaming....Hoping the planets line up!
