'I don't create cakes for Halloween, I wouldn't create a cake that would be anti-American or disparaging against anybody for any reason, even cakes that would disparage people who identify as LGBT,” he said. "Cakes have a message and this is one I can’t create."

Baker who refused to make cake for gay wedding: 'I don't discriminate'

Well after all this publicity I don't think he needs to worry about a gay clientele anymore.

This is about eliminating the last trace of Christianity from this country. The atheist left can’t wait for that day. They are not happy to be what they are. They are obsessed with destroying any institution that says their way of life is unnatural.

It’s war to the end. Don’t doubt me.

And in a narrow 7-2 decision,

So he would make a cake for gay weddings that didn’t have a message or any other expressed content ?

"..The baker at the center of a Supreme Court ruling that he cannot be forced to make a cake for a same-sex wedding told “Today” on Tuesday.."

I can't believe any reasonable conservative/Christian person would agree to go on leftist media talk shows. What's the point?

Izzit just a "no publicity is bad publicity" thing? Enquiring minds wanna know! d;^)

'serve everybody that comes in my shop,' but that he wouldn't 'create cakes for every message.'

A perfectly reasonable, responsible and appropriate attitude. It should be celebrated and supported both socially and legally. No one should be forced to apply their artistic talent or professional skills to a project they do not support or believe in.

Should a skilled plastic surgeon be compelled by law to mutilate a beautiful women because she hates the attention and is willing to pay for it?

Should a talented video photographer be compelled by law to film pornographic movies just because a client is willing to pay the fee?

Should a well respected custom body shop be compelled by law to butcher a multi-million dollar classic Ferrari into a hot wheels style ghetto cruiser just because a client has the money and lack of good taste?

You get the idea. No one should be compelled by law to apply their skills and talent to a purpose against their will.

If one wants to buy the off-the-shelf products or openly offered services, fine. But one must not be compelled to actively participate and apply unique personal talent or skills against their will.

And in a narrow 7-2 decision, the high court said legal proceedings in Colorado had shown a hostility to the baker's religious views.

The decision was not a narrow one. I don't care how Roberts is compelled to describe it. It's implications should be crystal clear, and there should be no reason to believe this issue isn't settled.

I heard it narrowly made it. Yup, a mere 7-2. Pretty damn close according to the demolibs.

This is interesting. I sincerely doubt these people are asking for a standard, run of the mill, wedding cake. There is something about these cakes that is offensive and why people are refusing to make them.

This baker was set up - there were other bakers in the area who sell cakes to anyone who can pay for the cake. The “couple” was trying to force this into a court case and set a legal precedent. - They got their wish.

This may pave the way for getting some of our religious liberties back as guaranteed by the Constitution.

As soon as the idea of “Hate” Crime took hold, any reasonable discussion about applying the Law consistently went out the window.

Because of this Ruling, the Leftists want the Constitution changed. I guess that famous line from the Godfather works for them, either your signature or your Brains will be on that Contract.

Nowadays the Law is just a matter of opinion which makes the SCOTUS a dangerous institution.

When we have to worry about nearly half the Justices on the Court who would do anything to abridge our God Given Constitutional Rights we are in deep trouble, especially with half the Country agreeing with them.

Cakes are $50,000 each for some messages, and are subcontracted.

“...in a narrow 7-2 decision...”

If they regard a 7-2 opinion as narrow, how would they categorize a 5-4 vote?

Nope, no lefty spin on that article...

(sarcasm)

I have a friend who knows the Baker well. He is a wonderful, Godly Christian man who lives his faith. He was targeted by these two sniveling little creeps with an agenda. I hope he goes back to baking his cakes and the two creeps rot in hell.
