Well I really don’t know what is motivating Trump in this case.
I am on one hand, for Rubio in this.
I however KNOW there is something which Trump is not discussing publicly here. But Rubio in this case, is not showing he is anything but a red-blooded AMERICAN.

My guess is he wants to have his cake and eat it too. On the one hand he wants to go after China for intellectual property abuse and national security issues. And ZTE touches both. On the other hand, ZTE buys tons of stuff and Trump wants to sell into China more. Since Xi wants ZTE back on its feet it could be part of a quid pro quo. North Korea? Lower China tariffs?
Rubio is a jackass who is working an angle. No need to speculate there.
Maybe trying to get Norks to the table or China to help with the pressure on the Norks

I agree. This was stupid on Trumps part. Getting a 500M loan from the Chinese after he lifts the sanction doesn’t look right and he opened an unnecessary can of worms now on top of everything else being thrown at him.
