KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (CBS/AP) His home on the rocky coast is former President George H.W. Bushs happy place, chock full of sea-sprayed memories of boating, golfing, family and friends.
But this summer theres a different feel as he arrives without his wife of 73 years.
The nations 41st president arrived Sunday at Walkers Point, where he spends his summers, a little over a month after the funeral of his wife, Barbara, in Texas. Residents waving American flags lined the streets in Kennebunkport to welcome Bush to town.

Those Somalis do not live in pricey Kennebunkport or anywhere near one of the expensive coastal towns. That area is rather liberal, too.
And the populace of Maine didn’t import these muzzies...it was a former RAT governor, John Baldacci, elected in 2002 and 2006, who offered them generous welfare. As a result, many of the Somalis left Georgia and settled mostly in Lewiston in western Maine or liberal Portland in southern Maine.
I’ve been here 26 years and saw my first Somali last year at a Sam’s Club in Bangor, Me.
Fortunately, our current governor, arch conservative Paul LePage, elected in 2010 and 2014, enacted a number of reforms regarding welfare and other government give-aways. It’s too bad he’s term-limited and can’t run again this year (but he can in 2022 if he wants to).
Thanks for the ping. I hope he has a nice reflective time at his home. It’s lovely. I wouldn’t turn it down. LOL!
Given his age and fresh bereavement, I fear that this might be his final visit to ME.
That would be very sad. Maybe being there will give him peace and make him feel that he is nearer to her. I feel that, no matter what one thinks of the family, theirs was a real love story.
Interesting. Thanks.
Oh man, when he dies hes going to get heros accolades. He is an enemy of the People of the United States. But most people dont realize that.
The locals all are just devoted serfs, welcoming the master back to his castle..
