a man used a bump stock to quickly mow down 58 people in Las Vegas IMHO, this is BS.
If the shooter(s) had been a decent shot, and not used the bumpstock, he (they) could have killed more than 1,000 people in the same time frame, given the fact that 20,000+ people were corralled with no place to hide.
The bumpstock hysteria is nonsense.
The shooting was a horrible, domestic terrorist act and it never should have happened; but he only killed fifty-some people because he used a bumpstock and an AR-15 variant.

A semi automatic can fire at the rate of fully automatic fire with no bump stock at all. I believe it's closer to half the rate of fire: ~7RPS for a bumpstock or similar technique, and ~13RPS for a full-auto, M-16 type weapon.
Though, I could be wrong.
