Europe could end up rueing a potential new deal between China and the United States after the two sides stepped back from a trade war, France’s Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire warned on Sunday.

“The United States and China risk entering an agreement at the expense of Europe if Europe is not capable of showing a firm hand,” Le Maire told CNEWS television.

“The United States wants to make Europe and European countries pay for China’s bad behavior. All of that is totally absurd and incomprehensible for allies,” he said.

His comments came after a joint statement issued in Washington said Beijing had agreed to reduce its trade deficit, “significantly” increasing purchases of American goods. …

Your men are wimps and you did absolutely very little in two world wars.

Incredibly incompetent political leadership and generals willing to sacrifice every last man bled France white in WWI. Even if it had somehow managed to become less politically incoherent, the catastrophe of losing that many brave men willing to give their all was not something France could overcome.

Yes, Europe had every intention of challenging the US economically, with eventually having a military which would also challenge the US.

It is no accident that most of the immigrants they accept are military age men. They have not been an ally of this country for decades. We would be foolish to consider them anything other than an opponent.

Well then , I guess the Europeans just need to show a “firm hand”.

The proper term for them is “get a grip”.

Bingo! Just as they whined when we took out one cash cow - Saddam....just as they are whining we’re about to shut down another cash cow - Iran.

This, while the US continues to provide for their defense. I think most of us can see it. They’re just a bunch of useless leeches eager to stick the knife in our backs and take each and every opportunity to pocket money from undemocratic regimes. They think it “unfair” that they should have to compete with US companies on an even basis.
