Last week the planted spy was a given ...

Not exactly. Last week, the story was that the FBI/CIA used a foreign asset (maybe Stefan Halper or Joseph Mifsud) to initiate contact with someone in the Trump campaign for the sole purpose of justifying a FISA warrant on the Trump campaign contact, and (by extension) the entire campaign.

Conservative media outlets jumped all over that and claimed that there was a "mole" in the campaign -- even though that was never established. Neither Halper nor Mifsud would be considered a "mole" by any stretch, since neither of them worked for the Trump campaign.

Now they're trying to cover their asses by admitting that there was never any evidence of an actual mole ... just someone who may have been an unwitting dupe (Carter Page and George Papadopoulos are two likely candidates).

It's as if journalists don't even read their own writings:

Last August, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, who compiled opposition research on Mr. Trump, told a Senate panel that British spy Christopher Steele relied on an "internal Trump campaign source" to compile his now-famous Trump dossier.

The Washington Post reported on the existence of a U.S. citizen who had provided intelligence to the CIA and FBI in the Russia probe. The source had become of particular interest to Nunes, whose committee was quick to dismiss any allegations of collusion between Trump associates and Russia.

According to the Post, the Justice Department clashed with Nunes and refused his request for specific details on the person.

On Wednesday, The New York Times seemed to lend credence to the idea by reporting that "at least one government informant" met several times with former Trump campaign advisers George Papadopoulos and Carter Page.

Moles don't have to be planted, they only have to be recruited. Papadopoulos certainly fits the description of a recruited asset, witting or unwitting.

Halper may not have been a mole, but it looks like he was essentially an agent provocateur.

They are trying to claim that if the informant wasn’t employed by the FBI before joining the campaign then the informant cannot be a mole. They aren’t denying that there’s an informant, they are just playing word games about his motivation and the timing.

They need to phone Kim Strassel at the WSJ. She is the only one making sense.

Mark it. For now, CBS News thinks it is outlandish that a "mole" might have been planted. No Way the FBI under the Obama administration would do that. But also catch the point about what they report is "not at issue". No longer is wiretapping Trump Tower "at issue". Huh? How did that pass without a whimper? I think issue must have died when it became an inconvenient fact.

The point being is that CBS will not have any issue at all with a mole being planted if that becomes the facts. For now it is at issue in the media because it is being claimed before the disclosure, just like the wiretapping issue. But when the issue becomes fact they won't care a whit and they will largely "normalize" the act of an Executive Administration planting moles in political campaigns of the opposition.

Anyone that believed the three big networks would give a fly-f*** about the FBI infiltrating and spying on a Republican, is crazy

the writer wa an Associated Press reporter. this is on Murdoch website in Australia. it’s unbelievable. read it all:

18 May: news.com.au: Seth Hetenna: Hidden investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia
ROBERT Mueller is so secretive about his investigation into the Trump campaign that nobody even knows where his office is.
Whether the President obstructed the course of justice by firing Comey is yet to be decided, but one thing is for sure: Robert Mueller runs a tight ship...

Trump was said to have expected a swift end to Mueller’s investigation, but if the past is any indication, the special counsel’s probe of Russia will weigh on his presidency for years, just as earlier investigations of past presidents have. The independent counsel inquiry led by Kenneth Starr and three other independent counsels into President Bill Clinton dragged on for six years at a cost of nearly $80 million before ultimately concluding that there was insufficient evidence to show that any crimes were committed...

Without fanfare, Mueller has begun slowly unwinding the many layers of conspiracy involving Trump and Russia. Donald Trump has promised he would build a “big, beautiful wall” along the US-Mexican border as part of his plan to make America great again. But so far, the only wall that is being built is the legal one that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is erecting around the White House, and it increasingly seems too high for America’s 45th president to escape.

It’s absolutely incredible to watch the media attempt to downplay this.

How far we have fallen...

It’s seriously messed up, as a country.

The Media will attempt to play this out and deflect, ignore and/or confuse their audience for political gain.

Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.

Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day’s divinity

First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach in a cool jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it’s quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy

The music and voices are all around us.
Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake
Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream

Come with us

Everything is broken up and dances.
