.Sen. Elizabeth Warren spoke Tuesday at the Center for American Progress 'Ideas Conference' with other 2020 Democratic presidential contenders and declared that democracy is "crumbling." Other speakers included Senators such as Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Amy Klobachur, Sherrod Brown, and Kirsten Gillibrand.
Warren, relitigating the 2016 U.S. presidential election, said it is not a signal of a "healthy democracy" if a candidate with more 3 million more votes then the opponent is not declared the winner. She said democracy is about "whoever gets the most votes wins."
"In 2016, nearly three million more people voted for Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump but Trump took the presidency. That's not exactly the sign of a healthy democracy. Democracy hangs on the idea that whoever gets the most votes wins," she said.

The Senator seems to believe that the
United States of America, is some form of unitary entity; that the founders did not realize that they gae a plural name to something they didn't really understand. That idea, of course, is a rank denial of our history, as well as of the clear intent of the Constitution. It is every bit a stupid as the idea that you can resolve moral principles, simply by counting noses, for or against ethical precepts.
Both notions apparently assume that James Madison really did not mean his warning in the Federalist Papers, about the danger of "Democracy," where people like Senator Warren can rally a mob to take away the most fundamental liberties of the rest of us.

Ha. Big law school professor thinks the US is a democracy. My God I can’t wait to vote against this hideous harridan in November.

"I do not say that democracy has been more pernicious on the whole, and in the long run, than monarchy or aristocracy. Democracy has never been and never can be so durable as aristocracy or monarchy; but while it lasts, it is more bloody than either.
Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty. When clear prospects are opened before vanity, pride, avarice, or ambition, for their easy gratification, it is hard for the most considerate philosophers and the most conscientious moralists to resist the temptation. Individuals have conquered themselves. Nations and large bodies of men, never." -- Another Massachusetts politician or as Cicero so elegantly stated, an excrement. John Adams however, never came close to the stench that Warren produces.

Hillary won California by 3,000,000 votes. Trump won the other 49 States by 1,000,000 votes. It’s not healthy for a democracy if one extreme State decides who should be President.

What is not healthy is a Hunger Games form of government where the populous Capital enslaves the Districts.

This fake squaw and every other ignorant moron who claim that our country is a democracy are bold faced liars.
WE are not now and have never been a democracy.
To: SMGFan
How many of those “most votes” were cast illegally? Remove those and Trump probably won the popular vote.

She still hasnt learned that we live in a representative republic, not a democracy. That's nothing. You haven't learned yet that we live in a Constitutional Republic, not a representative republic.
And before you start...what establishes the representation of which you speak? The Constitution?
There's your sign.
At least you're closer than she is.

Good thing we're a Representative Republic. Good thing we're a Constitutional Republic.
Ask yourself...what establishes said representation?
The Constitution?

The electoral college was brilliant foresight by the founding fathers. The had such vision to foresee places like New York, California, etc., and constructed the electoral college accordingly. How they saw, 200+ years ago, that liberal bastions would form around such population centers is amazing.
To: SMGFan
The Senate should censor her for this, she is either fundamentally ignorant of the constitution, or a flat out liar. She’s lying about the very country and constitution she swore to uphold...
