A Democrat receiving his third jail sentence? Not surprising. A Democrat giving up on America? There are plenty of those, although few will actively say it.
A former Democrat congressman giving up on America because he just received his his third jail sentence? Now that’s a humorous way to end the week.
Yes, former U.S. Rep. Mel Reynolds, a veteran of our country’s penal system, is going back to the hoosegow for six months after being convicted of failing to pay taxes.
According to Fox News, Reynolds, 66, declined to pay anything to the IRS on $400,000 of consulting work he did. The work was done for Chicago businessmen in the African nation of Zimbabwe.
“It’s a tragedy that you squandered the opportunities you had and the type of person you could have become,” Judge Robert Gettleman said at the sentencing.

He’s just one low level fish in the huge Chicago pod of crooked tunas. They’d have to build a whole separate prison if all the guilty were to be convicted.

He says he is going "home" to Africa without specifying a country. In which African country was be born and raised? I don't think Chicago is in Africa.
Africa is a massive continent with many different countries, but in this clown's eyes, the continent of Africa is this monolithic entity that has no difference between the nations within it. I challenge this criminal (or any of his former constituents)who professed to be "African" to name 5 countries in Africa without consulting a map.
If he has a gofundme page to finance his one-way trip to Africa, I would be happy to donate provided he renounces his US citizenship and signs legal documentation ensuring that he can never return to the U.S.
He should pick a muslim country. Sounds like he would fit right in.
