About that FBI ‘Source’
WSJ ^ | 5/10/18 | Kimberly A. Strassel

Posted on 05/10/2018 6:38:50 PM PDT by Brilliant

The Department of Justice lost its latest battle... when it allowed House Intelligence Committee members to view classified documents about a top-secret intelligence source that was part of the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. Even without official confirmation of that source’s name, the news so far holds some stunning implications...

Among them is that the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation outright hid critical information from a congressional investigation...

The bureau already has some explaining to do. Thanks to the... leakers, we know Mr. Nunes’s request deals with a “top secret intelligence source”... who is a U.S. citizen and who was involved in the Russia collusion probe... we might take this to mean that the FBI secretly had a person... to interact in some capacity with the Trump campaign.

This would amount to spying, and it is hugely disconcerting. It would also be a major escalation from the electronic surveillance we already knew about... Obama political appointees rampantly “unmasked” Trump campaign officials... Now we find it may have also been rolling out human intelligence, John Le Carré style, to infiltrate the Trump campaign...

When? The bureau has been doggedly sticking with its story that a tip in July 2016 about the drunken ramblings of George Papadopoulos launched its counterintelligence probe... When precisely was the Steele dossier delivered to the FBI? When precisely did the Papadopoulos information come in?

And to the point, when precisely was this human source operating? Because if it was prior to that infamous Papadopoulos tip, then the FBI isn’t being straight. It would mean the bureau was spying on the Trump campaign prior to that moment. And that in turn would mean that the FBI had been spurred to act on the basis of something other than a junior campaign aide’s loose lips...

They wanted you to think he was a potential target. That gave him cover. But if you remember his tv appearances there was always something odd about what he’d say. He seemed to straddle both sides of the fence. I always thought he was afraid of repercussions but maybe he was actually a CIA asset all along. He seemed to be hiding something.

Or a mysterious guy named John Miller who sounds suspiciously like Donald Trump on the phone. LOL.

Kim’s article says she knows the name of the informant (last paragraph). The paragraph right before that says, “This suggest the source may be overseas”.

It would seem odd that Kim would even write that paragraph about the informant being overseas if she knows the name of the informant and he isn’t overseas.

Trying to analyze her article and assuming she really knows the name of the informant, I’d say he is a US citizen living abroad and had some interactions with the Trump campaign. It could be someone not currently on our “radar”.

Guessing it isn’t Page or Sessions.

Carter Page was not smart enough to undertake a covert role of critical importance. He was indeed used as a covert listening post but in terms of between-the-ears gray matter, he is empty.

Carter Page worked for the Hillary campaign in years past and then was inserted into the Trump campaign.

Carter Page is at best medium intelligent and that is generous. He graduated from one of the Swamp’s universities as a mediocre student and then found low-level jobs via politically connected Swamp denizens.

Carter was sent to Europe to attend oil and gas conferences where he was to meet Russians. The Russians wouldn’t have much to do with him because they saw he was not so bright. But when they discovered the money behind him, they decided it would be best that they should talk to him.

THERE WAS BIG MONEY BEHIND CARTER PAGE AND HE WAS DIRECTED TO CUT A DEAL WITH THE RUSSIANS.

He never cut a deal with the Russians but he was recorded meeting with them. So now, he had a record.

Carter Page the Dumb was deliberately sent to meet Russians and then was documented as a Russian colluder of sorts.

The democrats/deep state got the highest FISA warrant possible on Carter Page saying he was the biggest spy ever under current observation by the American intel community. Carter Page’s enemy spy classification was so high it would make the Rosenberg’s look like school children.

And yet, Carter Page was never arrested or detained for questioning.

The highest-level possible FISA warrant of this grave danger to national security in the form of a second-rate dufus permitted the intel community to plant listening and tracking devices on and around Carter Page so that any person he came into contact with could be recorded and monitored. Carter Page became a human red glowing transmission beacon, a human mobile listening post, what is called in the intel community a ‘Surveillance Rabbit’.

This Surveillance Rabbit, this grave threat to the United States, was inserted into the Trump Campaign to listen and detect every tiny sound and motion.

But Carter Page is a laughing stock. He’s a tool. He’s a useful idiot. He’s a distraction.

Whoever is considered so serious by Nunes, Gowdy to be a super-secret prince of darkness spook, hidden away behind all the sick acts of the DC Swamp melodrama, could not be a such a human dummy set up as a farcical surveillance rabbit like Carter Page.

Could it be Kushner? Wasn’t he recently faux attacked by Schumer over something Schumer dreamed up then dropped like a wooden nickel?

More likely it's Carter Page, from what I'm reading on other threads.

That's where the smart money is right now: Carter Page. Former FBI himself.

Soros is an extremely small person, who made money unethically, sold out his principles, and now is trying to circumvent the will of Hungarian and US citizens by using the money he obtained unethically. I wonder if he actually thinks he's doing good.. Hopefully he's not that delusional.

Carter Page may have been far out of the loop, but he was an expat with long experience in Russia and with ties to Russians with Kremlin connections. Maybe his background was suspicious enough to substantiate a wiretap warrant based upon the dirty dossier. Maybe all the G-Men wanted was to wiretap the Trump campaign to help Hillary.

However, I suspect that the mole, whoever it was, was an integral part of the insurance policy. After all, look how well the defeated Democrats have undermined the 2016 election results at every turn.

Whatever happened, none dare call it treason.

Or someone who came over from one of Trump’s GOP opponents...

I hesitate even to suggest this because it's so off the wall, but your post got me thinking...

There is one person close to President Trump, you mihgt say inner circle, a person who is sought out by TV networks. This person ran a PAC during the primaries that did some very tough anti-Trump ads. they were a bit rough on him.

Now, this person held a significant position in the campaign and works in the White House. this person could be called a Trump insider.

I won't post the person's name, because it's such an off the wall theory that I'm not that sure of it myself, although there might be some external evidence involving someone close to this person that might bolster the theory. You may be able to guess who I'm talking about, or you might not.

I will not speculate, nor would it be beneficial to do so...... at this point we will find out who it was eventually. I don’t know if it even matters in the big scheme of unexpected crap we have learned.

The really grotesque thing to me if this is true is that the government, under the administration of one party, put a SPY in the opposition party campaign and government for the purposes of a politically sourced and funded investigation to undermine an election.

“About Carter Page, something that never did make a lot of sense was why someone who was a globalist Merrill Lynch investment banker and promoter of Russian/Central Asia oil & gas would be attracted to Trump, who is an American economic nationalist and wanted to hugely ramp up US oil & gas production at the expense of OPEC and the Russians.”

Maybe because Trump is pro-oil and against the Goebels warming-anti fossils nonsense. Tillerson had much more links to foreign oil yet he supported Trump too.
I bet the FBI source is definitely not Carter Page.
