The Department of Justice lost its latest battle... when it allowed House Intelligence Committee members to view classified documents about a top-secret intelligence source that was part of the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign. Even without official confirmation of that source’s name, the news so far holds some stunning implications...
Among them is that the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation outright hid critical information from a congressional investigation...
The bureau already has some explaining to do. Thanks to the... leakers, we know Mr. Nunes’s request deals with a “top secret intelligence source”... who is a U.S. citizen and who was involved in the Russia collusion probe... we might take this to mean that the FBI secretly had a person... to interact in some capacity with the Trump campaign.
This would amount to spying, and it is hugely disconcerting. It would also be a major escalation from the electronic surveillance we already knew about... Obama political appointees rampantly “unmasked” Trump campaign officials... Now we find it may have also been rolling out human intelligence, John Le Carré style, to infiltrate the Trump campaign...
When? The bureau has been doggedly sticking with its story that a tip in July 2016 about the drunken ramblings of George Papadopoulos launched its counterintelligence probe... When precisely was the Steele dossier delivered to the FBI? When precisely did the Papadopoulos information come in?
And to the point, when precisely was this human source operating? Because if it was prior to that infamous Papadopoulos tip, then the FBI isn’t being straight. It would mean the bureau was spying on the Trump campaign prior to that moment. And that in turn would mean that the FBI had been spurred to act on the basis of something other than a junior campaign aide’s loose lips...

Yesterday Rush said he thought Brennan was the leader of it.
(Rush just said it as an aside and didn't elaborate. I think Brennan could well have been the prime mover in 2016 when he had power.)
It was all a setup by Strzok and Brennan. Nunes should interview Halper.
Halper, who has a residence in Virginia, was also allegedly in charge of a team of former CIA analysts who kept tabs on the Jimmy Carter campaign.
In an ironic twist given the Russia probe’s focus on election meddling, Halper was also linked to a Reagan-era scandal dubbed “Briefing-gate.”
Halper was one of several Reagan White House officials linked to the scandal, which involved campaign briefing materials stolen from Carter’s campaign. Prior to the 1980 election, stolen Carter-campaign briefing papers containing classified information ended up in the hands of Reagan’s campaign officials.
The theft was not revealed until 1983. Halper was not directly implicated in stealing the documents, but he was identified as one of the campaign advisers who handled and disseminated them.
Page was a fall guy, the mark who enabled the FISA warrant.
Brennan’s hatred for POTUS is palpable. He would do anything to take this President out.

During one of their meetings, Halper asked Papadopoulos about Russia and emails, according to sources close to Papadopoulos’s version of the encounters.
TheDCNF also learned that Halper approached two other Trump campaign advisers, including Carter Page. Halper invited Page to attend a symposium at Cambridge in July 2016.
Another campaign official told TheDCNF they were contacted by and met with Halper several days before Halper’s initial outreach to Papadopoulos. That official, who did not want to be identified, said they were surprised to learn of the Papadopoulos encounter.
How did that SOB get into that position? How was he ever approved?
Contrast Brennan getting in with what what they are doing with Gina Haspel. Unbelievable. What is going on with this country?
I believe Page was a willing co-conspirator with the FBI.
It really is appalling.
Brennan’s like a rabid dog, but without his CIA job, I don’t know how much bite he has left.
I think it’s significant that Halper was already involved in July 2016 (meeting with Page), because that fits the timeline better, than if it was first in September with Papadopoulos.
Highly probable Page wore two hats. MER-CIA

I would go with polygraphing the entire bureau. The ones who do not want to be polygraphed resign immediately without pension or benefits. Those who do and are caught lying go to prison. The rest is the base for the new FBI.

That has already been disclosed by Page in previous interviews.
His plan backfired so next move was to somehow recuse himself so he sorta told a lie by saying he didn't have any interactions with any Russians then he recused himself to get the Mueller witch hunt started

Agreed. Halper was in contact with all three of the indicted person's and Carter Page was useful to a fashion so no reason to indict him.
My summary of this whole thing:
-Carter Page was a known commodity, not smart enough to actually infiltrate the campaign but extremely useful in that the Title 1 FISA warrant allowed them to capture signal intelligence two hops out for a year on virtually everyone in the campaign, transition and the administration (July 2016 to July 2017).
-Popadopolos was a nobody but someone they might be able to turn on Trump if he actually knew anything, which he didn't.
-Stefan Halper is the "source" but only useful early on when Brennan was busy putting together the "EC" for Comey and collecting bogus intel from the Russkies in Moscow March 2016. That information was combined with dirt from Blumenthal and company and the Dirty Dossier was largely written by Fusion GPS with the background material he had done in years prior and handed off to Steele to give the color of actual investigation. Strzok visited Halper in the UK July 2016 when they began the official FBI counterintelligence operation.
