Lt. Colonel Oliver North Poised to Become NRA President "Most exciting news for NRA members since Charlton Heston Became President of Our Association," Wayne LaPierre said.
(DALLAS, TX) – Lt. Colonel Oliver North, USMC (Ret.) will become President of the National Rifle Association of America within a few weeks, a process the NRA Board of Directors initiated this morning.
“This is the most exciting news for our members since Charlton Heston became President of our Association,” said NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre. “Oliver North is a legendary warrior for American freedom, a gifted communicator and skilled leader. In these times, I can think of no one better suited to serve as our President.”

I checked out Democratic Underground's reaction. In a nutshell:
"Traitor! Traitor! Traitor! Traitor!"
This is an absolute slam-dunk. He will do GREAT there.
That's why there were NO felons in the Clinton or 0bama administrations - despite the fact that there were literally DOZENS of unprosecuted felons in the Clinton and 0bama administrations.
Note how the Democrats & their Media Death Star always "get busy" felonizing Republicans/conservatives when they lose power in The Swamp.
Had this been a regular “news” article, the obligatory “controversial” descriptor would’ve been included in the headline.

A traditional war hero, unlike McCain, who received his fruit salad through his incompetence. It’s real injustice that the genuine war hero was made a felon, while the fake is getting lionized in the media. The word “hero” implies not just bravery, but the achievements beyond those of mere mortals. McCain’s principal achievements were crashing his plane and waiting out his confinement as a POW. We can all feel sorry for McCain, but how is he a role model?
I don’t have anything against Ollie, but this selection will bring some bad press to the NRA on top of the usual bad press.
