RUSH: Yeah, the little guy was just cruising right along. It was as good a speech as Nicholas Sarkozy gave. I dont think people remember this, but Sarkozy, when he was the president of France, came to Washington, had a big state dinner and had a joint speech, had a speech before joint session of Congress. And he dazzled and he wowed everybody. And the guy came off as much more of a patriotic conservative American than any Democrat in the House of Representatives.
And today, the new French president, Macron, was off on the same riff and he was sounding wonderful. He was talking about liberty. He was talking about freedom. He was talking about democracy. And then he went off the rails toward the end of this thing and started talking about climate change and, There is no planet B, uh-huh. And Democrats in the place stood up and started laughing and applauding, first standing O of the day from their side of the aisle.
And then the guy says, I am sure, I am sure that one day the United States will rejoin the Paris Accord. And once again the Democrats stood up and went nuts. Im thinking the only way thats gonna happen is if we ever elect a Democrat again and global warming is still a big issue out there, which, I should say climate change, it will be, because it isnt gonna go away.
And then while this guy is going on and on, he was really good, folks, he was really good talking about liberty, democracy, freedom, the relationship historically between the United States and France. I mean, he was really good. Hes got this down pat. He could have been a native American. He could have been a thoroughbred, if you didnt know any better, a thoroughbred conservative with a French accent.
Macron on environment: "There is no planet B"
And then the guy goes off the rails talking about globalization, saying nationalization is bad, we cant do this nationalization stuff because the world is gonna continue to evolve. We cannot get into isolationism, as though thats what the United States is involved in. Its not. Were not becoming isolationist. This whole definition of nationalism and populism, nationalism by itself as though its some evil word or bad thing.
Were not getting out of the world. Were not forgetting the world. Were not stopping international trade. We are not giving up our role of leading the world and promoting freedom and democracy, as long as the Democrats are not in office. When theyre in office, all that goes out the window. It really does, folks. The United States as a superpower goes out the window. The United States as a leading light goes out the window. The United States as a beacon, freedom, hope, democracy goes out the window when the Democrats are in power, particularly in the White House.
But this guy goes off the rails insisting on globalization, The Paris accords and returning to them so that the world can save planet A, cause there is no planet B. And then giving the Iranians nuclear weapons! I mean, it was a giant disconnect. I think the guy was trying to placate everybody in the audience and certainly his audience back home where hes in ratings trouble. Hes in presidential approval number trouble, are you aware of that? The guys the approval numbers have sort of plummeted in France.
But he also was great in detailing the genuine history between France and the United States. It was good. Sarkozy was better because Sarkozy was consistent throughout, but Ill never forget the Sarkozy speech because I was stunned by it. I mean, I literally thought I was listening to somebody born and raised in this country who got it, who understood. And it was a pleasure to hear because you just even from the French president back then and today, too, Macron said things you just dont hear Democrats of today talk about, unless theyre ripping it or criticizing it.
We might have some sound bites. Its not a crucial thing, but I thought that I would, in response to this, you know, we got a little story here: Climate Change Is Not As Bad As We Thought Say Scientists. This is in a London paper, a U.K. paper. Its The Express. Climate change is likely to be markedly less severe than forecast, a study claimed yesterday. It predicted that the impact could be up to 45 per cent less intense than is widely accepted.
Still just another forecast. There still isnt any empirical data in any of this climate change stuff. You realize seriously, folks the only, quote, unquote, evidence for climate change is computer models? Im not making this up. There isnt any empirical evidence that there is abnormal warming taking place. All there are is a bunch of computer models that predict it.
Of course, computer models are only as good as the data thats input, and the data thats input is biased, of course, by people who are politicians, not scientists. Theyre disguised as scientists. Theyre actually politicians. Aside from the computer models predicting things 30 years from now, 50 years from now, there isnt any evidence of climate change. The sea levels are not receding. New islands are being created, by the way. That wouldnt happen if the sea level were receding. Theres all kinds of evidence to refute the allegations.
But there isnt a shred of evidence. All there is is a bunch of fear by Millennials whove bought into all of this that the planets not gonna be habitable by the time they are 60 or 65. And so their fear of that sort of governs their belief in the climate change issue. Plus, fear and fright are two of the key techniques used to persuade people, particularly young people today. They work. But there isnt any evidence. Its just like this Climate Change Is Not as Bad as We Thought Say Scientists.
There isnt even any science in climate change, when you get right down to it. No settled science is ever declared settled because of computer models. Anyway, it predicted the impact will be up to 45% less intense than widely accepted. But the study emerged as other scientists said winter waves pounding the Scottish and Irish coasts have grown by up to 5 feet, 6 inches over the past 70 years. (laughing) That is impossible to measure! The height of waves?
I can take you out here in March, and I can show you the height of waves out here on the Atlantic Ocean that we dont usually see in March. It had nothing to do with climate change. It had everything to do with high- and low-pressure areas. Every time a cold front goes through here, the height of waves cold front, not warm front. When a cold front goes through here is when the surfers go nuts. They take up all of our parking spaces, block up all of our roads. You cant get home because of the surfers!
And theyve never surfing in the summer. There arent any waves in the summer unless theres a hurricanes out there. Theyre always surfing in the winter. Anyway, I just wanted to share this because something is making this group dial this back. Who is this group anyway? (muttering) A study in the Journal of Climate predicts rises of
The typical bogus, nothing to see here. Its just a political movement that is disguised as science.
Here I on the East coast and I still feel like it’s winter and it’s almost May. Screw this frog.
Why should Americans forsake their nationalistic economic, political and social accomplishments and embrace the chaos of multiculturalism and globalism. Go home Macron. The American people will do what is in their best interests. That seems to benefit the world more than anything you and your ilk do. Go home and watch France die.
You see when it's unusually cold that just "weather" not "climate". But when it's unusually warm it's proof positive evidence of global warming climate change.
I didn’t get the message that Marcon thought nationalism is bad. He spoke in favor of global cooperation to solve the world’s problems. But he also expressed a desire to not try to change other countries and cultures through war mongering and regime change. And he expressed a strong belief that the culture and freedom of countries such as France would inspire the world.
Did you mean to insert the ‘’sarcastic’’ tag?
BS Ryan is giving a polite clap, he is not showing delerious agreement.
None of this matters anyway. What the masses are going to see is a few highlights from the state dinner and the wives looking pretty, and Trump and Macron toasting each other as allies. The rest is just grandstanding for Congress which isn’t going to do what Trump wants without under dire pressure anyway. Meanwhile eveyr0one can fuss about words being spoken while Trump works out a new Iran deal and makes Frau Merkel and PM May green with envy that France is acting like the real power in Europe.
Or until our money or American blood runs out. No nation in history has succeeded in "leading the world" long without being ruined by the effort.
Just a hunch but I’d bet the Euroweenies are boiling about now lol
Watching this I could tell things were going sour by the expression on Pences face.
Global Warming is not as bad as we thought so you only have to fork over $75 Billion a year now ,LOL
Merkel comes to visit real soon.
How pleasant to not see Pelosi and Reid up on the dias.
Sarkozy... isn’t he in jail or awaiting trial?
Here I on the East coast and I still feel like its winter and its almost May. Screw this frog.
Here I am in Watsonville, CA, and just spent the coldest April I can ever remember, and may looks to be just as cold with 61-65 degress days.
Did you ever notice that Emmanuel I looks just like Napoleon?
No. Marcon came across as a unique combination of wanting global solutions while nations maintain their identities and freedoms.
