Hatred of journalists on the rise worldwide, watchdog says

PARIS (AP) — Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders says hostility toward journalists is growing worldwide, often encouraged by political leaders — even in democratic countries.
The group's annual global index of media freedom released Wednesday found an overall rise in animosity toward reporters and a drop in freedoms, notably in former Soviet states but also in countries from the U.S. to the Philippines.
The group says many democratically elected leaders "no longer see the media as part of democracy's essential underpinning," singling out U.S. President Donald Trump for his media-bashing. It also notes the recent killings of reporters in EU members Slovakia and Malta.
The watchdog says authoritarian regimes are trying to "export their vision" that media should be compliant.

It’s about time. When Walter Cronkite, Dean of the Democrat media, lied about the Tet Offensive during the Viet Nam War, reporting a great victory by our brave soldiers as a defeat,the news media’s credibility should have been shattered completely.
The blood of brave Americans was betrayed for political gain by Democrats. Republicans did not utter a peep, to protest this betrayal. This set the ruinous precedent for Fake News to further a Leftist political agenda that was in place until the election of President Trump.

In the case of Trump he wants them to be accurate and unbiased, but the AP would never mention that (thus showing how inaccurate and biased they are.)

I recall the day when the most hated were used car salesman and lawyers, while at the same time it was a common belief that if it was printed, it was the truth.
Our world has changed. In addition to journalists being despised, I bet politicians are right up there too.
I can’t wait until crowds of angry people catch some of the newsy’s and give them the tar and feather treatment, then literally run them out of town on a rail. Maybe give them the head stock treatment in town square first where offended people can throw rotten eggs and tomatoes at them.
