Washington -- (CNN)President Donald Trump said Tuesday that North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un -- the man he once mocked as "Little Rocket Man" -- "has really been very open and I think very honorable based on what we are seeing" as the two gear up for an anticipated face-to-face meeting in the coming weeks.

He didn't expand further when asked to explain his comment that Kim is an "honorable" person, sidestepping the question. Trump said he is looking forward to meeting Kim "very soon" and indicated the North Koreans are pressing for talks to begin immediately.

That’s weird because The Spew said that Kim Jong Un was the respectable one a while back, they didnt have to explain their reasoning. Hey CNN I have a question for you, how come you gave Hillary Clinton the debate questions in advance, did you think she was SO stupid she couldn’t answer a simple question on her own

As if there is a description from the President they would accept.

MSM and the Democratic party have squatted in the GOPe’s old haunt, “Chatteu du Stupid War.”

Diplomacy is out of vogue with the Whining Class for the next 7 years.

The fact that the Clown Noise Network deliberately took the statement out of context to put an infantile stupid spin on the words indicates why the President owes them nothing.

has really been very open and I think very honorable based on what we are seeing

His statement was clearly in the context of the current negotiations. Even as stupid as the average failed Journalist is, even these clowns should have enough basic English comprehension to understand the statement.

He didn't say Kim was honorable in general, he said he's been honorable in recent discussions. Context is clearly beyond the capability of CNN's dishonorable editors.

He didn’t absolve Kim of all sins, he simply reported that thus far Kim has appeared honest in the negotiations. Unless I’m wrong, “honor” is important to Asian culture.

Praising Kim is a strategic move. It doesn’t surprise me CNN can’t grasp that, having observed the Democrats serving under Carter, Clinton and Obama.

Those folks are all on the same team with CNN.

If Kim is going to do the respectable thing, he should be recognized for it.

I will say, it almost seems at times that the press is denigration Kim so that it can throw a lug wrench in the finer workings of Trump’s deal with him.

This is diplomacy 101.

Never put your adversary on the defensive; and always allow your adversary a pain-free path.

(Diplomacy 102 is simultaneously to carry that big stick thingy, heh heh.)

My feeling is this, it’s about 12 hrs earlier there now in NK so I’m sure Kim is sitting down eating breakfast and knows our satellites know exactly where he is. After our 2 shows in Syria and Putin’s objections I think Kim is re thinking his Russian backers. And knows 1 cruise missile to his exact location is quite a possibility.

It is, and what a small price to pay to honor Kim’s seeming direction, when he’s doing what we want.

I think Kim is a world-class idiot, but I’d praise him in the quest for a denuclearized non-ICBM nation, to replace what’s there now.

And he does take care of them in short order. Liz McDonald was ranting today about those saying the POTUS called Fatso honorable when what he was talking about was how honorable he’s been in talks.

"And under his breath you can hear...."and we shell see just how honorable he is"."

I've always liked this story about JFK:

"In 1961, John F. Kennedy, met with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev at a summit conference in Vienna, Austria. It was a time when Cold War tensions between the two countries were high, just weeks after the failed U.S.-backed invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs. Kennedy pointed to one of the medals on Khrushchev's lapel and asked what it was. The Lenin Peace Prize, said Khrushchev. Kennedy replied, 'I hope you keep it.'"
