Next we will hear that they will make exceptions for “poor people”, who cannot be expected to buy/bring their own bags, etc.

Mick and Keith are going to need to update the lyrics:

Friends are so alarming
And my lover’s never charming
Life’s just a cocktail party on the street
Big Apple
People dressed in plastic bags
Directing traffic
Some kind of fashion
Shattered

Yeah, that's the ticket.

The voters should ban bags alright. Douchebags.

Limit plastic bags to 10 per box and a 21 day cooling off period

I will make one of these that says "Democrats".

In the '60's they were the party of anything goes.

If it feels good do it.

Now they are the party of "No".

banning bags is dumb, but what is alarming is how far left the prospective candidates for the 2020 nomination think they need to be in order to be viable.

Interesting to see how this will play out. A.N.S. Plastics Corp, one of the biggest manufacturers of plastic bags, is based in New Jersey.

They also make biodegradable plastic bags, but I don't know how widespread their use is, how long it takes them to biodegrade, and whether this matters to Cuomo.

The best liberal elite meal ever.

Sunny side eggs.

A Big Gulp 64 ounce drink.

A slice of pizza with no nutritional content declaration.

A medium rare fresh hamburger still bleeding.

All to go in a single use plastic bag.

The democrats will soon allow the stores to charge .10 cents a bag as they do in California then they will get a kickback from the stores to the democrat party.

This is going to cost businesses, because people will reduce their shopping, because they aren’t going to carry bags wherever they go or buy them.

Didn’t the use of plastic bags started to take off big time when enviroweenies whined about how we’d use up all the trees using paper bags?

Plastic packaging materials, can be made from biodegradable substances, like soy.

Plastics are not good for sea animals. Fish, mammals and fowl tied up with 6-pack holders, for example.

Conservatives in my Orange County town vote Republican, but also support keeping our environment in good condition. That means not dumping trash and pollutants into the ocean.

I will post this again.

Sometime in the late 80’s, I believe, the radical leftist environuts demanded that everyone stop using paper grocery bags as we were depleting the earth’s forests in the name of paper sacks. These same environuts DEMANDED that we use plastic bags in order to save the trees. Now, they changed their mind again.

This is like the coming ice age, er, global warming, er, climate change. Or like how they demanded ethanol for the environment only to find out ethanol is far worse. Or how electric cars are going to save the planet, except for all the destruction caused by mining for the batteries, disposal of the batteries, the trillions of costs for upgrading the electrical infrastructure and the mere shifting of one fuel for another with no real net reduction.

These people operate out of total emotion and are incapable of thinking rationally and critically. But they feel good about themselves.

"Governor Andrew Cuomo plans to ban single-use plastic
bags, though he previously blocked a 2017 plan to charge New
York City shoppers 5-cents for paper and plastic bags at stores."

New Yorkers: Please remember who did this to you at election time.
In the meantime, enjoy your shopping.

SOOOOOOOO effing stupid.

WHY pick on shopping bags? I’d prefer the old paper ones, myself, but WHY the need to ban one kind of plastic bag that actually gets used again more than any other “single use” type of bag?

Trash bags, bin liners, sandwich bags, dry cleaning bags, gold fish bags, frozen vegetable bags, condoms, all are plastic and all are used only once.

So picking on shopping bags is what? Virtue signaling that annoys most of us? What’s the game?

Folks living near a state line can just as easily shop in PA or VT.

Works for me.
