Agreed. Part of the war on boys and masculinity, as far as I am concerned.

Cub Scouts is probably OK with having girls. My daughter was a Girl Scout and they had to get signed permission from every parent to light a candle. The awards kept getting changed to appeal to a more “urban” culture.

There are already girls in Boy Scouts and it doesn’t seem to hurt anything. But Boy Scouts tends to be a dumping ground for bad kids and I can’t imagine a girl wanting to deal with that.

There were always girls in cub scouts. They were mostly called sisters, daughters and sisters and daughter's friends. Sometimes a few neighborhood girls would come around to see what was up.

My daughter hated girl scouts. They were 'lame'. They went camping in a living room. We had a scout leader that did not have any boys so his daughter used to come. He wanted a boy and he had like 4 daughters.

My daughter worked at the boy scout summer camps teaching crafts and her friend worked there as well.

Two of my nieces spent several summers working at Fort A.P. Hill. One taught shooting and archery (she is a dead eye) and the other one taught something about wildlife. They caught a rattle snake and she was the only one with a key to the cage and the only one who was allowed to fed it. They all had one thing in common: girls are lame.

They were all "honorary" boy scouts.

Try to find a Trail Life USA troop for your boys. Unapologetically Christian and a strong masculine program.

My son and I went from tigers up to 1st Class. Then Tillerson forced the gay agenda into the Boy Scouts. That is when we left. Glad we did.

The Girl Scouts national org was taken over by Dykes at least 2 decades ago now, they have completely lost their way.

Local troops are usually run by caring good moms, but the national org was taken over by the radicals long ago and they have been destroying the program from the top down ever since.

If you need a father/daughter group, that isn’t as structured as some of these other groups, see if you have a Y Princesses group in your area... Its definitely NOT the boy scouts or the girl scouts, but it is an organization dedicated to the fostering of the father/daughter relationship.

Sadly the Girl Scouts were taken over by radical feminists and homosexuals at the national level at least 2 decades ago, while the individual troops are still generally run by good folks, the org itself long ago lost its way.

You make my point. You misunderstand.

The units a re segregated until the scouts become 14 at which time they can be integrated into Venture or Explorer units.

At present, to begin, only Cubs are affected.

My son-in-law is an Eagle Scout and he is one of the parent leaders of his kid's troop. All the parents are happy about the inclusion of the girls. In fact, it seems like a natural occurrence. Last time I was in TN, I attended the District Pinewood Derby race where all the scouts built a car. Everyone had a great time. My grandson took third place overall. The girls are happy to be a part of the whole experience.

When I was growing up my parents did not do Scouts, but they took us tent camping all the time. I bummed Boy's Life off of my cousins who were Scouts when they were finished with them. All three of my sons made Eagle.

Yeah, who wants to be a Girl Scout? They are now nothing but a leftist propaganda outfit.

Scouting is always better when parents are involved. If parents want to include their daughters I see nothing wrong with that.

The girls were always out on the fringe and if they did camp with us they had their own tent away from us. They usually had their own fire. There was one who actively participated in attaining merit badges. She could tie knots better than anyone. She probably kept her merit badges in her sock drawer. She never wore a uniform or participated in ceremonies. It was understood. I think she went in the service after high school. Imagine that.

I guess you could have called them the modern version of "camp Followers". he he...

We used to go on a canoe trip every year down the Niobrara river. That that was more of a family event. Some of the older scouts even brought their girlfriends. Of course it was the mothers that kept an eye on those girls.

When I was growing up in the 70s, I was a flat out tomboy...

so, if allowed, I probably would have joined the boy scouts, just like my brother and our best friend did.

I still have a picture of them dressed as Indians at some boy scout function, while I was in the background missing all the fun.

Our troop has had girls as members of the Senior Scouts, formally a venture crew, for quite some time. There were not a lot but never the less, they were present and well received. They enjoy the outdoor program that includes lots of backpacking with rock climbing and rappelling thrown in for kickers. They went to Sea Base and Philmont as part of the troop crews.

In 2018, believe it or don’t, our troop had it’s first marriage. After both graduating from college, two of our former scouts got married. Previously there was a sister tag along. She ended up eventually married to the Senior Patrol Leader

We had a homeschool family with two boys, both great scouts. The sister often came to meetings and the whole family attended campouts. She did the work for merit badges same as her brothers. She missed out on the leadership training. I think that the current evolution will eventually allow the girls to take advantage of the excellent BSA leadership training

Our troop has evolved a strong female leadership cadre that is very helpful. We have 70 registered adults and as many scouts. In such a large unit, there are lots of jobs for adult leaders.

The parents are really the ones who run Scouts. If there are no parents there is no Scouts. As long as they are engaged and watching things then there should be no cause to worry.

Our son is an Eagle Scout.

Sodomite scout masters and now this; there is no way we would EVER allow our son to go into the perverted "BOY Scouts" today, and he wouldn't want to be any involved with any part of it.

There are no queer scoutmasters nor scouters unless admitted by the sponsoring institution. Each adult is required to be trained by the BSA extensive youth protection training.

Failure to adhere to the policy is reason for dismissal.

Your belief is mostly wrong

I agree that Girl Scouts was watered down too much. Selling cookies? Ugh.

I am not in the least ignorant of what you describe. It just doesn’t happen, and the first time someone DOES challenge it with a lawsuit, the organization will fold like a cheap suit and comply.

Mark my words, they will change the nature of Boy Scouts for boys. MARK MY WORDS.

I remember the word battles in the '70s and '80s about women in the workplace. Not a big deal, we were told.

Now, Microsoft is being sued for gender discrimination...one of the complaints? The atmosphere is competitive, and not supportive enough.
