Your post is absolutely correct - all the bad action at WH happens after midnight when the drunks head in. We had a few meals at WH recently on a trip down to Louisiana. Everybody was friendly at noontime.

It’s amazing how many terrible restaurants there are once you’re off the ramp of I-65 or I-81! I don’t know how many Shoney’s and Cracker Barrels we counted.

Don't get me started on Cracker Barrels! A ticky-tacky tourist trap if there ever was one. The only restaurant chain that makes you walk through a winding gift shop to get to their restaurant. They even make you go back in the gift shop after you eat to settle the bill there, which means you have to wait in line with people buying their overpriced Yankee candles and other knick-knacks. And don't even think about sitting in their porch rocking chairs unless you plan to buy one. They all have price tags hanging from them like Minnie Pearl's hat.

Their bland "comfort" food inside is nothing special either. This is your grandmother's cooking only if she was sick in bed and your layabout cousin had to make it and couldn't find the spice rack.
