Imagine a newspaper editorial board calling a president "unfit to clean toilets" and then a few months later inviting that same president to write a guest column about the economy on that same editorial page. Say what?
And if you find that disconcerting so did Jake Novak, a CNBC senior columnist until March, who took USA Today to task for that on Tuesday. Novak reminded USA Today that he criticized them for going way over the line back in December right after their unhinged attack upon Trump. Then he wondered how that same editorial board could have Trump write a guest column this week sans an apology.
To get an idea how extreme USA Today acted in their editorial, let us take a look at their December 12, 2017 editorial, Will Trump's lows ever hit rock bottom? with its highly inflammatory subtitle, A president who'd all but call a senator a whore is unfit to clean toilets in Obama's presidential library or to shine George W. Bush's shoes: Our view.

USA Today is a toilet. And a tabloid.
The man created 25,000 jobs for his employees.
The U. S. A. Today denigrates him at the loss of their own credibility.
In truth, he is above cleaning toilets, so in a way they are correct. He is unfit for that job. It would be a waste of his talents.
We have one of the best presidents in our nation’s history, and the Left is incredibly frustrated. The fact he is sticking to the U. S. Constitution angers them intensely.
Bird cage liner like all the major papers.
USA Today unfit to line birdcages or kitty litter boxes.
Well said. I volunteer to stick Novak’s stupid ugly face in the toilet if given the chance.
Um, you are confusing Novak with who wrote the USA Today editorial. Novak was the one CRITICIZING the USA Today editorial.
It makes perfect sense.
People who clean toilets are infinitely more respectable than people who sperg opinion on the pages of the ethical dumpster fires known as “newspapers”.
If USA Today needs their toilets cleaned, they should call Obama because he is certainly qualified to clean toilets. Obama might also be qualified to hand out clean towels and even shine your shoes.
If that sounded racist, I might have meant it as such.
I think Novak took them to task, but you have my full backing to stick the head of any person that insulted Trump in that way, even if it was Novak and I missed something.
Thanks for the note of agreement.
no worries dude I have a tequila in my hand in Malibu carry on
Obama was a stinking poop stain compared to Trump.
USA Today seems determined to reelect Trump.
Hooyah!
“We have one of the best presidents in our nations history, and the Left is incredibly frustrated. “
DO, I have to respectfully disagree, Donald J. Trump is the best president we’ve ever had. I just wished there was a way we could set him free to do all the things he wants to do. Ronald Reagan, whom I knew and revered, wasn’t near the “get it done man” that Trump is.
Just in. Comes the news of a possible breakthrough with North Korea and it's nuclear weapons program. A meeting with South Korea's president by the North also upcoming. The naysayers of the Left already trying to pour cold water on the news.
Had a certain other president achieved this, just imagine the absolute euphoria and praise.
Insert superglue in coin slot.
USA isn’t good enough to line my bird cages with.
Don’t tell them that crazy talk like that just boosts Trump’s popularity
I have the deepest respect for our janitorial services folks.
Why does USA TODAY hate them so much?
