from the brink: kim suspends missile tests, shuts nuclear sites

North Korean authorities announced Friday evening that the Hermit Kingdom will suspend all missile tests and shut down its nuclear testing facilities; setting the stage for next month’s high-stakes meeting between Kim Jong Un and President Trump.

According to Fox News, the North Korean regime announced their decision to suspend their weapons programs just hours after delegations from North and South Korea held negotiations to find a “permanent” settlement to the 68-year long war.

“From April 21, North Korea will stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles,” the Korean Central News Agency said, according to Yonhap News. “The North will shut down a nuclear test site in the country’s northern side to prove the vow to suspend nuclear test.”

“They have not attached any conditions that the U.S. cannot accept, such as the withdrawal of American troops from South Korea. All they are expressing is the end of hostile policies against North Korea, followed by a guarantee of security,” said South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Trump should get all the credit. I’m sure he destroyed their nukes and said “Every time you have a a test we’ll bomb you and nobody will know it. You can save face by giving it up.”

That is exactly what I think happened. The underground “collapse” or bomb destroyed most of it plus a bunch of scientists. Otherwise he would still be threatening us. Must have inspections and truth coming out of this.

Got a source?

This is the first I've seen of Kim stepping down.

I'd need a pretty reliable source to buy this one.

I don’t known the details, but Kim will be fading away.

Here's what I think: I don't think the Swiss-educated Kim Jong Un wants to be in charge anymore. Like many Millennials, he's just not cut out for leadership roles and he knows it. Too much work trying to run his crappy country.

I wouldn't be surprised if his plan is to negotiate a way out of power where he gives up control, gets to keep his vast wealth, and is amnestied for the various crimes against humanity he's committed.

Kim just wants to kick back, watch basketball games, drink scotch, and be a playboy. Let someone else run things. FTS.

Sounds reasonable. I wonder if he is also suffering from a serious medical issue that requires first world medicine.

Nothing from the FAKE STREAM NEWS.

Remember they are the same people that have been wrong about everything they have said about President Trump.

It’s just from what I have heard and gathered from various sources. Time will tell and you heard it first here.

What we see with this now I have been hearing from about November of 2016.

If you continue to watch the Fake Stream News, then you will continue to be misled.

It is all bullshit.

What they said is what they said.
What they will do is something entirely different.
Pray tell, at what point did you begin to take anything a communist dictatorship says at face value? I don’t.

What are your credentials or knowledge base to make any reasonable analysis of DPRK actions or statements, outside of only naive hope?

Oh okay.... (sarcasm off)

What you think is happening is irrelevant.

Here is all you have to do to figure it out. This is not rocket science.

I go to sources that have been over time proven correct vs. sources over time that have been proven to be certified on the record liars.

Here is a clue for you. Stay away from the CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC, Washington Post, NY Times... They will mislead you ever time. They are pro DNC 100% of the time anti-Trump 100% of the time.

Do you own research and stick to people proven correct over time. Discard people that are proven wrong multiple times.

I play baseball with sources. I give them 3 strikes. If I catch them lying or wrong 3 or more times, then I find them less and less credible as a source of information. The above sources that I listed have thousands of strikes against them. As a matter of fact the only thing I know they get correct are sport scores and next day weather.

Good luck in your research of the truth.

IIRC Ronald Reagan said that it didn’t matter who got the credit for something as long as it got done. PDJT may feel the same way. Some people only care about getting credit for things, whether they get done or not. PDJT is about getting things done.

If you believe this, then you don't understand Trump. He has some great strengths, but humility is not one of them. He is a once in a lifetime figure who has the potential to change the world (for the better) in ways that will effect many generations, but he will demand recognition for doing so. Unfortunately, history books are written by liberals, so Trump will be described as a cross between Hitler and Forrest Gump who rode the coattails of The Great Obama to peace and prosperity...

That is conjecture.

We’ve been down this same road many times and this is classic DPRK. The timing, the approach, EVERYTHING. It is merely “carrot.” They NOW will ask for a big and dangerous/difficult US concession following this (within 30 days I predict) and threaten to withdraw this new pipe-dream “carrot” everyone is slobbering over tonight) and replace with a “stick” if they don’t get their way.

It is not clear yet if the response by Trump will be a departure from past Western responses. They are attempting to box USA and Japan in by triangulating pressure from S Korea, Russia, China and the world community. Japan Prime Minister Abe already expresses skepticism about this just now tonight and Japanese media is also ryes wide open and very suspicious.

Fact: They know Pyongyang much better than the pitiful US MSM, and most Americans (including some Americans right here on FR it would seem.)

Stay tuned and don’t count the chickens hatched yet on this one.

Ironic - hit a failing nation where it hurts and let it finish collapsing, instead of bolstering it to let it keep crawling along, and good things start to happen....what a concept!
