House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy has requested the appearance of DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz on May 8th, 2018: Hopefully, this is not cause for alarm. However, given the history of such activity; and specifically given the history of the engagements and motives of the participants involved in this request; it is a troubling development.

I haven’t given up on Gowdy, although I was surprised at his refusal to take Mueller to task in that recent interview. I suspect he’s well on the way to being a NeverTrumper now.

That said, I don’t think Gowdy has gone over to the other side, just that he’s had it with Trump’s management style. Among conservatives, he’s certainly not alone in that regard.

But that doesn’t mean that he suddenly wants to protect the swamp. He’s leaving office after all.

It sounds to me like he’s been told that the IG report release date is the first week in May and that he intends to interview Horowitz after people have had time to digest the report. There are, after all, bound to be questions after the report is issued.

I’m actually a little surprised that people don’t see it the same way I do, but I guess everyone has become cynical the past few years, with good reason. But on it’s face, Gowdy is saying that the report will have been issued before Horowitz makes his appearance before his committee. Otherwise his comment about postponement makes no sense.

Yes he is a grandstander! He has put a lot of career miles on, using that silver tongue of his. Smarmied a LOT of people with it.

In the end, he delivered absolutely nothing, but a damn good show.

Let me tell you how this will go down.

A show of rhetorical elegance is guaranteed.

The outcome will secure the NeverTrump UniParty, who are parading as “conservatives “, but prefer to work for a Democrat prez, in order to stop Trump and resume serving only their donor open borders agenda.

Follow the money and you’ve got the script

Boy Scout Paul Ryan is the most successful in his role of conservative prig, Miss Manners.

It would seem the evil Extraterrestrial invaders replacing 'Republicans' with replica humanoid DEEP STATE'S HACKS is nearly complete.

Ryan, long gone. McConnell, gone. Sessions, gone. Gowdy, gone.

>>gowdy is also harassing epa Pruitt.<<

As long as he keeps doing the great job he’s doing, I don’t think Trump will fire Pruitt over wanting to fly first class, etc.

He’s sort of coming in handy as a guy who flushes out the “conservatives” who’d rather look right than do right. That makes him useful to Trump, in a way. The global warming baloney serves the same purpose.

.
The IG report was written as weakly as it could be.

One can see why Sessions was puzzled when Jim
Jordan said, the IG can’t prosecute, because Sessions knew there would be no prosecutions.

A Judge in NY - rejected a 24 hour delay. With the Gov having custody of the Files and Property, the the Doj Atty argued they could not wait 24 hours!

Terrorists request and get Special Masters and the Judge today denied the President one.

Hillary was allowed to decide what was Private of hers - and what wasn’t.

This is all by design. Wake up and see what’s happening.

The idiots that have blind faith in Sessions have daily reminders of their folly.

Many of us were “taken in” by Gowdy. I didn’t realize what a 100% owned Deep Stater he was until he endorsed Rubio (a real McCain sycophant who will support whatever his donor-owners tell him to).

Let’s face it, we can count on maybe one hand the true blue patriots who work FOR the People. The rest of them do as they are told, by the wealthy oligarchs who rule the world.

And then along came Trump who exposed the whole charade.

Fine Rita. Now let me tell you how I think it will go down and we can compare notes later:

Horowitz’s report will lay bare the behind the scenes dealings over HIllary’s emails and make it clear to anyone but the perpetually blind that the fix was in from the beginning.

His report, or a followup report, will also make it clear that several parties in the leadership of the DOJ and FBI need to be brought up on charges, though it’s not his job to indict. Huber will do that.

His report will also describe the outcome of a couple dozen leak investigations and recommend dismissals with Huber following up after. I doubt the FISA issue will be covered in this report but if it is, that will be a bonus.

And AG Sessions will support both Horowitz and Huber, and everyone who’s been ragging on him for over a year now will be eating humble pie as they watch perp walk after perp walk over the next several months.

There. Now we get to wait and watch.

As for your “conservative prig” comment, there was a time when most conservatives stood for good manners and respect for your fellow man. Obviously those days are long gone, but in wartime lots of “stuff” happens, and this is a war we’re in, against the country being completely taken over by the authoritarian left.

For the record, I think Paul Ryan is an honorable man. Also for the record, I think Senator McConnell is the true swamp creature in all this. If he’d have passed half of what Ryan has shepherded through the House the past year, Ryan and he would both be conservative heroes.

John McCain, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romey, Ben Sasse, Jeff Flake, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina (and many, many, more)

Bush League Republicans hell bent of turning the USA into North Mexico.
They work for the Cheap Labor Express.

And you are right, it is many, many more.
Gowdy endorsed Rubio, I think.

Oh good grief. The only “news” is that Gowdy has scheduled Horowitz to appear before his committee and that his appearance will be delayed if he hasn’t completed his report by that time.

Everything else is just raw speculation.

You might not want to bet the farm on that. Sessions is doing a VERY convincing job of looking like he’s OWNED by the Deep State. Sometimes when you smell a rat ... there’s a rat.

Yes, it has become obvious that the elite Republicans are only about protecting the party and the government.

Why else would Session’s let these investigations be slow walked by his agencies?

I have never trusted ryan. He was on the opposite side of some things ever since he was noticed. I had hoped they would vote him out in his last election and they didn’t even come close. To me, he was what the dems used to be.

Gowdy was never on Trump’s wagon... but he could ask the best and most intriguing questions to whomever was in the hot seat. I thought he was a brilliant questioner. But he’s turned more and more against Trump... and the way they treat Trump, is the way they are treating his voters. He thinks Trump is not elite enough.. then I’m not either. They hate Trump... they hate his voters. Gowdy is a huge disappointment... he could have made it big as a Trump supporter... he chose to try to do it with the deep state. South Carolina is full of ordinary people who work hard and carry their load... but there are too many in the whole U S that believe the lies!

The problem with the anti Trumper’s beliefs is... they are living in their bubble and have no idea what makes the country work/tick.. they don’t have any idea where they’d be if we didn’t go to work every day and produce... they have no idea how to live in any fashion but their deep state.. they think it’s the norm. It’s NOT!

And I take deep offense at the treatment and lies the media has been dishing out against so many people who are good decent people, and voted for Trump... they attack him, they attack millions..

There are a few in the republican party that are still trying to win this thing for Trump.. and for us!

To think Ryan gives a fig about the GOP is a joke. He is after 1 thing and 1 thing alone that $7000 a month retirement check as speaker of the house he makes 223,000 as speaker. His pension is based on the highest 2 years of his 20+ years in the system its called the FEER system....thats what its all about...
