Rushed Amazon warehouse staff pee into bottles as they’re afraid of ‘time-wasting’

It meant workers operated a “toilet bottle” system.

Mr Bloodworth said: “People just peed in bottles because they lived in fear of being disciplined over ‘idle time’ and losing their jobs just because they needed the loo.”

He said the warehouse in Rugeley, Staffs, is like a prison with airport-style security scanners where workers are checked and patted down in case they steal.

Hoodies and sunglasses were banned along with mobile phones as a security measure, he said.

An Amazon spokesman said: "Amazon ensures all of its associates have easy access to toilet facilities which are just a short walk from where they are working.

"Amazon provides a safe and positive workplace for thousands of people across the UK with competitive pay and benefits from day one.

"We have a focus on ensuring we provide a great environment for all our employees and last month Amazon was named by LinkedIn as the 7th most sought after place to work in the UK and ranked first place in the US."

>>I would guess they don’t take the time to wash their hands after urinating either.

there’s probably a camera in the urinal and a computer that analyzes the number of “shakes/urination event”.

Chain gangs have to watch out for trucker urine bombs while they’re cleaning trash from the highways.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time...

All fun and games until one gets slapped with an exposure charge and ends up on the sex offender registry.

I’ve worked in environments where the rumor mill flies around about taking bathroom breaks (and let me tell you, having an armed guard take you to the bathroom and back does discourage use during work hours, especially when you’re about 15 minutes from the guard post.)

Someone spreads the word that if you go to the bathroom, you get fired. And the truth almost always turns out that ‘nahh, you don’t need to wear Depends on the job.’ Because if someone had a supervisor in record saying you’ll be fired for going to the bathroom, the employee would likely run at top speed to the exit to find a lawyer to sue for ten years of wages.

A trucker called and said Maine was the worst place because lack of rest stops..

As one who did a lot of long-distance driving, I can attest that the trees of Maine are probably well watered. Not all the cars parked on the breakdown lanes are actually broken down!

This is a fairly common practice when modestly-paid workers handle small items of high value.

I do not understand the complaints. Workers are free to get a different job any time they want. Slavery was abolished a long time ago.

Essentially the people who didn't pay attention in school, thought it was cool to cut class and smoke pot, and would not listen to any authority end up wizzing in bottles while they run around a giant warehouse filling orders for stuff they can't afford.

From over here on the other coast, I can assure you that most of my friends consider a golf course to be nothing more than a nicely landscaped rest room.

Hitler never put it in writing “Kill all jews.”

Amazon never put it in writing in the HR Manual “No pee breaks.”

But smart lieutenants know how to get done what their bosses want done.

BAD LAW, like gun control.

If caught emptying urine bottles into bushes, you risk getting ticketed.

If you just throw urine bottle on ground in public places, less legal risk.

How do they acquire all the bottles?
The break room with soda machines would be just as distant as the washroom, typically back to back to save on plumbing lines.

I have found disgruntled employees tend to spread outlandish and outrageous allegations and rumors when in fact they are pathetic slacker loser employees. I call BS on this with a very strong knowledge of working at Amazon and will say it is a different type of company but is very fair. Lastly, for every one employee, there are a hundred at least who will happily fill the position.
