Other than his tax cut and the Space Program what did he do? The Ruskies fired the Nukes in Cuba we find out after they opened their books and they didn’t launch ( great equipment aye ) , they just sat their, and we knew he shived the freedom fighters, so how good of a POTUS was he? IMHO Truman and Ike were way better, heck Nixon was better....

When any, that’s in any, Republican “scandal” is pushed by the low-Q media, three words are sufficient: Kennedys, Clintons, and Obamas.

There is nothing that the right has done to come even close to the sleaze, sexual depravity, hiding of documents, corruption, payola, etc, etc, than that threesome couple of completely corrupt and inept POSs.

This was the most shameful episode in JFK's presidency, much more so than all the starlets he bedded and boinked.

JFK gets well deserved praise for handling the Cuban Missile Crisis, but the crisis would never have happened with some minimal support and follow through at the Bay of Pigs.

Ted also lied and they paid Mary Jo’s parents to keep it as the Kennedy’s wanted it to be.

They also paid off John Jr’s wife’s family when she was killed on his plane.

That was the scuttle butt anyway.

The Kennedy family was to be protected.. and they had so much tragedy in the family. Mr Kennedy had his daughter’s brain lobotomized.. and didn’t even tell Mrs Kennedy he was having it done.

“Where are the planes?” kept crackling over U.S. Navy radios two days later. “Where is our ammo? Send planes or we can’t last!”

I remember that day and immediately realized the Kennedys had betrayed the Cuban Freedom Fighters.

If you will remember, then the USA had to pay Cuba a ransom in the form of tractors, to free those prisoners. I thought common tractors, but it was actually high dollar bulldozers. 500 is the number that comes to mind. 500 bulldozers.

Never trusted a Democrat since.

What a shining example for the Democrat Party.

Kennedy’s handling of the Bay of Pigs operation has always been baffling to me. The plan had begun during the Eisenhower administration, and JFK never really backed it. He changed the landing site from Trinidad, Cuba to the Bay of Pigs. This already put the landing force at a disadvantage because the first beach was more easily defended, closer to other forces aligned against Castro, and had an escape route into nearby mountains. Then he refused to follow through with promised air strikes. After it was all over he fired the three top men at the CIA as scapegoats.

If he didn’t believe in the plan, why didn’t he just cancel the damn thing?

Nixon would’ve flushed out Castro and Cuba would be a free country today had he been rightly President in ‘62.

I rate Kennedy as the 2nd worst POTUS, with W.Wilson as the most worstest (it’s a pizza thing).

It does show the power of the popular mass media that JFK isn’t vilified as he should be. I suppose martyrdom will do that for you./

This is the thing that turned my head on John Kennedy. He let those guys go thinking that they had the backing of the United States and just let them flounder. He could have sent help and we would not have had all these years of that jackass Castro. He was easily beatable with just a little help from the U.S. He, however, let those men get pounced on by Castro’s forces.

JFK was in white tails and a bow tie that evening, having just emerged from an elegant social gathering.

This was obama when Benghazi happened. Could not be bothered that over 40 men were going to be killed as he had a party to go to the day.

My Dad opined that getting shot was the best thing that ever happened to Kennedy.

He was a mediocre president, at best; and was looking at being a one-termer when he got plugged.

Suddenly, he became a brave, handsome martyr and Jackie was off and running with the Camelot myth.

The Bay of Pigs was a CIA operation and a CIA screw up.
