I think you would still likely have civil war in states like Oregon.

So what? That's Oregon's problem not mine. Yeah! I don't live there and they are now an independent country, free take make their own decisions (and vice versa). Get it?

First....I think that tribalism on the left will result in open violence. A race war. The left will use their assorted minorities to attack what’s left of the right. It’s certainly the trend.

It is actually fairly neat geographically. Draw a line 50 or so miles inland on both the West and East Coasts. The two coasts are one country, the rest is another. A few million would be trapped behind enemy lines on both sides, but they can either accept permanent minority status or move.

This is naïve.

Libs don't want to live separately from normal people.

The dems would be nuts to run any presidential candidate but a minority. The difference in the minority vote between Obama and Clinton in the swing states would have won the election for her. But I doubt any sort of sustained civil unrest could be enacted now by anyone, minority or not. I think too many might be too comfortable and well fed to ever risk it.

No, actually, it’s not. Practically all the coastal counties of North Carolina are red, for instance. Get away from the oceanfront counties and they’re practically all red, military bases. There are red coastal counties in, get this... California.

OK, count the red coastal counties. I see nearly 100 directly on the Atlantic, Pacific or Gulf of Mexico.

Matter of fact, other than New England and California, the vast majority of coastal counties are red.

You were saying... ?

There’s no way to get every last person, but so long as a solid 2/3 of the coast was liberal and the middle conservative, that’d be enough to guarantee political dominance for the foreseeable future. There are one or two coastal counties in California that might be red on a good day, but barely anyone lives there.

You must not be in a state you’re proposing to lop the coastline off of, sounds like some sort of Texas thing. Every large city in Texas is liberal. You’d be keeping Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, St. Louis. And giving up how many ports and military installations? It’s a pipe dream and not a very smart one.

I wasn’t arguing with you, I was supporting your observation that there are numerous “red” coastal counties , particularly in the southeast

News Flash for you - the left is aborting “our posterity.”

If I had the ability to do so simply by a single thought, every leftist in the U.S. would be instantly erased from existence.

It won't matter. We could be reduced to a one block area of territory and it would be less than a generation before it was fully infiltrated by the left and we'd be right back here.

Ceding ground isn't the answer.

There is only one answer at this point. How we prevent this from happening again, not a clue. But, yeah, fighting back before it gets to this point would have been an option.

I don’t think a divorce is ceding ground any more than the American Revolution was ceding ground. The issue is states rights against an overruling federal tyrant. If we could abolish the federal government completely, that would be the ideal, leaving states to sovereignly manage themselves, or fall. There would be natural, mutually beneficial confederations of states with like-minded views, and this should be allowed.

Seceding would, in effect, be abolishing the federal government, from the seceding states’ point of view. And that would be the next best thing.

The only answer is revival. Let us do the work of The LORD. Let us fast, pray, preach and love. Let us win the masses to Christ. Let us win the illegal immigrants to Christ. Let us go forth and conquer in Jesus Holy Name. The gates of hell cannot prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ.
