Johns Hopkins studies effects of DMT, including encounters with ‘autonomous beings’
WASHINGTON – It’s one of the most popular new hallucinogenic drugs being smoked by young people around the world, with many users reporting “spiritual encounters” with entities that sound a lot like demons.
And now, Johns Hopkins University is studying the alarming effects of DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, asking volunteers who have taken the drug about encounters they may have had with “seemingly autonomous beings or entities.”
One researcher characterized DMT as a “spirit molecule.”
So bizarre are the effects that users have described crossing into another world and seeing “machine elves,” aliens or cartoon cats. One woman reported being swarmed by apparently alive Slinky toys.
The research team is headed by Roland Griffiths, a behavioral biologist with a history of studying psychedelic substances that produce “mystical-type and near-death experiences.”

The only way to get measured/pharmaceutical-grade delta-9 THC, is to get an RX for “Marinol,” (Schedule 3) it comes in 5 & 10mg capsules.
Been approved for years, to treat appetite in HIV/AID’s, and to combat nausea in chemotherapy, and.... for “off label” uses. Your insurance won’t cover it, unless you have cancer or HIV, but you’ll always know exactly how much you are taking.
Nobody ‘really’ needs more than 5-10mg of THC to get off. (unless you have a massive tolerance, at which point you need to slow down...)
I’d suggest; buy an 1/8 of some super-potent variety, then get an oz of street weed, mix judiciously/sparingly, so you can actually smoke more than 1 hit at a time.
High dose THC, mimics hallucinogens. Don’t go there, unless you plan on it!

Thanks, you can actually estimate the dosage of THC quite accurately using the vape cartridges. You have the total weight, say 500 mg, the percentage THC, say 73%, and the number of expected 5-second puffs per cartridge (say 100 - stated by the manufacturer). Subtract say 20% for inefficiency (lost vapor). Straightforward arithmetic. I had 4 puffs but feel even the first would have had about the same effect (each hit me like a truck). The dosage per individual puff has a lot of variability, no doubt, but averaged over several comes closer to the expected. But as I said, I am done with THC in any significant amount. Seems to offer me nothing. The hallucinations were cute but nothing I need to experience again. Sticking with CBD.
My wife has a friend that was dizzy due to a urinary tract infection. My wife said a relative had one and it got so bad she started seeing aliens. Once the infection was under control the aliens went away. (Now THAT would be scary - if they didn’t go away!)

Did a stint in Geriatric-Mental Health, and if one of the lady’s started decompensating for no apparent reason, that’s the first thing we looked at.

(alcohol is a ‘toxic substance’ at high enough blood-alcohol levels. It’s less of a “mystical’ experience and more of a straight neurotoxicity Event.)
Ya’ load them up with Librium (and maybe some Risperdal for the hallucinations)(and pump some B-Vitamins into them as well) for about a week-10 days and then back off the Librium to zero, s-l-o-w-l-y, and sign them up for a 12-step program, ASAP.
The huge problem with misuse to that extent-— every time you ‘lose it completely,’ you don’t necessarily “come back 100%.” Do that a dozen times...and you’re literally Toasted.
