Johns Hopkins studies effects of DMT, including encounters with autonomous beings
WASHINGTON Its one of the most popular new hallucinogenic drugs being smoked by young people around the world, with many users reporting spiritual encounters with entities that sound a lot like demons.
And now, Johns Hopkins University is studying the alarming effects of DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, asking volunteers who have taken the drug about encounters they may have had with seemingly autonomous beings or entities.
One researcher characterized DMT as a spirit molecule.
So bizarre are the effects that users have described crossing into another world and seeing machine elves, aliens or cartoon cats. One woman reported being swarmed by apparently alive Slinky toys.
The research team is headed by Roland Griffiths, a behavioral biologist with a history of studying psychedelic substances that produce mystical-type and near-death experiences.

Fenugreek is reputed to reduce blood pressure while having a beneficial effect upon male sexual performance. Dietary garlic, fresh crushed or sliced and sautéed, not powdered, will help with arterial plaque and inflammation, which play a role in high blood pressure. Fenugreek will lower blood sugar though, which may be good in your instance if your’e also borderline diabetic, but that bears watching in any case. The only side effect of fenugreek that I’m aware is that with sufficient dosage over sufficient time, your sweat will begin to take on a spicy, sweet smell much like fenugreek. Some compare it to maple syrup. Hey, save money on cologne, lol. Always consult your physician when introducing herbs or supplements into your body, though. There can be interactions, and I’m not a physician, I just know herbals and supplements from having done a few catalogs and websites on Ayurveda for a fairly well known figure in SoCal years ago. Felt compelled to try it in order to write compelling marketing copy, and became a believer in some of it.
Just remember, food is medicine.
In about 1965 one of the fold-outs at the end of MAD magazine showed a hippie surrounded by the names of many drugs. DMT was one of them.
I seem to remember seeing the three day nightmare for ketamine. The scholarly source of my info was a Furry Freak brothers comic book.

Ah the days of putting that into the oil of my cars....
Hell, you don't have to take drugs for that. Just go down to your local Democrat Party club.
You don’t have to stick with lisinopril if it is causing you significant side effects. There are many classes of anti-hypertensives.
ACE inhibitors (Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors)
ARBs (Angiotensin II receptor blockers), also called Sartans.
Beta blockers.
Calcium channel blockers.
Direct renin inhibitors.
Diuretics.
Lisinopril is an ACE Inhibitor. Ask your doctor about prescription drugs in the other classes.
I've heard the term "clockwork elves" used as well.
The thing about DMT is that it can be produced in your own brain, by your very own pineal gland! You know, the "third eye."
If Freewheel’n Franklin said it, it’s got to be true.
It’s oddly comforting to realize so many freepers are old hippies.
I agree, that is an amazing comment. Evidently you have been to some places I haven’t. Closest I came was three weeks ago, when I decided to try legal Cannabis. Unfortunately, it was one of the concentrates and, against my better judgment and knowing better, I took several (4) puffs from the vape without waiting sufficient time between. The result, ten minutes later, was steve86 on the floor, catatonic-like, in a continuous panic attack, for the next three hours while experiencing a just slightly less intense (not much) version of the trips described above. No demons (AFAIK), but incredible perceptual distortions (visual; auditory; tactile; time), mild hallucinations of birds and dancing ballerinas derived from shapes in the room, rainbow colors flooding over the ceiling, and watching my wife standing above me seemingly as tall as the Statute of Liberty, threatening to call 911 the whole time. Well, I got my money’s worth from that 12-14 mg of THC, and although I will continue to take CBD for health, no significant THC for me ever again! This comment © steve86.
The strains of the legal weed that they are growing now are bred just for THC content, and they are getting ridiculously high, at the expense of things like CBD, which makes you wonder if there is any medicinal value left in a lot of these stains.
Also, meant to add: I did manage to somewhat say my prayers that evening, in a disjointed manner and about an hour after I was able to pick myself up off the floor, but more interestingly, long after the THC effects wore off, a voice came in my head with just one word: “occult”. I feel that last part fits well with this article.
Yes, this concentrate was 73% THC (state lab measured), and in this state you can get strains and concentrates with high CBD and very little THC (my CBD tincture has about 0.3% THC).
And as Jesus said in Luke Chapter 11:
24)”When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25) “And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order. 26) “Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
Any deliberate alteration in consciousness creates vulnerability to demons. I believe this includes some forms of meditation as well and hallucinogenic drug use. So will experimentation with the occult. There are some doors that should not be opened. The Christian should remain sober and covered with prayer. God will protect His own, but it is dangerous to play with matches....
So pass this drug out to all the illegal migrants coming over the border.
Sure. All we need is more drugged up possibly possessed individuals who have already proven their ability to disregard our laws running around. What could possibly go wrong?
I’m very cautious as far as comments about my past experiences with this stuff, I don’t ever want to seem as if I’m advocating their use. But, as far as cannabis assuming it’s legal in your jurisdiction and you are not an addictive personality, I will say this: different strains of marijuana have always had different effects, sometimes startlingly so. I doubt that’s changed over the decades with more intense breeding and hybridization efforts to increase potency. I had problems with it causing a sort of jittery paranoia after a while so I stopped, that wasn’t fun. However, up to that point the perceptual changes were enjoyable particularly pertaining to music, which was a revelation it sounded so good. Inhaling the stuff to me was not the preferred way to go about it. It worked best, for me, to treat it as you’d treat oregano and in fact substitute it for oregano. Strip the stems out, remove seeds if any, carefully chop it up and sauté it with butter and garlic, keep a lid on it. Once the garlic has gone transparent, pour it into a resealable container and refrigerate. This garlic herb butter tastes really good on a baked potato or anything else that works with garlic butter and oregano. The sensation comes on slowly but is very physical, sensual and pleasant. Go overboard and you might find yourself collapsing into a mass of giggles on the floor because your bones tickle. It’s also highly sexual so be cautious of your company if you’re not with your spouse. If you are, it’s amazing. This would be the way I’d go about the matter if I were a chronic pain sufferer also. Don’t get me wrong, I have no desire to advocate the use of it, there are definite downsides to longterm exposure and I’ve experienced them. It’s not an entirely bad thing, but it’s no panacea and anyone who’s trying to convince you that it is, is a snake oil salesman or trying to rationalize their own habits.
Turns out it’s not a “new” drug. It was first synthesized in 1931, Indians chewed the leaves it comes from long before that.
It was subject of a documentary in 2010.
