According to a survey by the Monmouth University Polling Institute, the vast majority of Americans believe that mainstream media outlets report “fake news.” A whopping 77 percent of over 800 respondents relayed their distrust for major news organizations in both television and print — a marked increase from the 63 percent that was already skeptical a year ago. Of those, 31 percent believe it to be a regular occurrence, while 46 percent see it as a more occasional issue.
83 percent of those questioned believe that special interest groups intentionally seek to implant the mainstream news cycle with false information. Moreso, 87 percent believe that those same forces influence social media such as Facebook, as well as YouTube.
Suspicion is not divided along party lines, though differences still exist. While Republicans are most convinced of the media’s impure intentions, with a pervasive 89 percent distrusting mainstream news networks, Democrats are now 61 percent in agreement, up double digits from just 43 percent a year ago. Those not affiliated with either party maintain a healthy skepticism of their own. Last year, 66 percent of independent voters already distrusted the media. This year, it has risen to 82 percent.

I remember when ABC, CBS, and NBC competed for truthfulness.
So 23% of Americans are complete dumb asses.
And this is the rough number who truly support our President. It is way above 50%.
It's hard for me to believe that there are still 23 percent who don't.
I’m 63 and I know I took it all hook line and sinker up until about 10 years ago.
Not just fake news but laced with extreme bias and genuine hate.

I can sit and recall listening to the Paul Harvey News in the 1980s. In fifteen minutes, you got a dose of all the news in the world....laid out in simple text. That was really all the news that you ever needed.
These days....with CNN’s focus, you sit there after a full-hour and ask yourself what exactly did they tell you, and you end up with about seven lines of text that you can remember from the full-hour. That means that there’s really not much to say in terms of news.
Integrity and trustworthiness is built up very, very slowly. But it is dissipated almost instantly. Ask any couple where one of the spouses was caught cheating and they tried to patch it up.
The MSM is finished. They will all be dead before any reconciliation can occur. And, they squandered the public trust so pointlessly. Fighting a battle they did not win. Even winning that battle now would not help.

The fake news folks think that leaving words out of quotes or picking and choosing sentences to change the tone is perfectly fine. Most of the fake news is done in exactly that way. It’s not made up stories, it is altered facts.
The mainstream media has been fake news for years and years. They’ve been biased as hell since probably the 60’s. Remember Dan Rather trying to ambush George Bush senior and Bush senior telling him off on air? That was about 1988 or so. Remember when they reported that they had proof of Dubya being a draft dodger and bloggers proved within 2 weeks that the typeface on the letter they claimed was proof did not even exist when the letter was supposedly written? That was 2004. Remember when every anchor followed candidate Obama when he went to Europe to be fellated by a bunch of dumb sheep over there because “it was a story” but only a couple unknown 3rd stringers went with McCain on the trip abroad he took st the same time because “it is not a story”? That was 2008.
So no, it’s not Trump. It’s not just an overwhelming bias. They’ve shifted to just outright making things up to fit their hardcore left wing bias. The only ones who think it OK have to be hardcore Leftists themselves. Everybody else sees it.

Polls need to include how many Americans are aware that the fifth-column leftist media are traitors to the United States of America.
