Why Liberals Are More Likely to Be Unhappy People

Which finally, ..., brings us to an article in Self Magazine entitled “Yoga Should Address Social Justice, So I Want to Open My Own Studio.” Now, you may be thinking, “What does Yoga have to do with social justice?” Good question. That was what prompted me to read the article and find, what I think, is a great read-between-the-lines example of why so many liberals are not happy people. There are so many unintentionally revealing parts to it. For example:

I recognize that yoga in the Western world can be culturally appropriative, and I’ve had many an existential crisis about whether I, as a black southern American woman, should even be doing yoga, let alone thinking about teaching it.
She likes yoga, but she’s having an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS about whether she should be doing it all. An EXISTENTIAL CRISIS. Over YOGA. I thought it would be fun to throw axes, so I bought some tomahawks and had a target built in my backyard. It never occurred to me as a conservative to wonder whether I should be having an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS because I might be filching German – or is it Viking — culture? Who knows? I ate Chinese food on Friday. I don’t feel bad about that either, but I guess if I were liberal, that might have been the start of an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS. The entire modern world is based on appropriating other cultures and given how interconnected we all are these days, other than perhaps some very isolated tribal cultures, appropriation is so common as to be almost universal. In fact, if you’re living in the Western world, it goes without saying that you are wholesale appropriating large amounts of Greek and Roman culture. So, why worry about it? Of course, there’s more…

I kind of dig Japanese culture. If I could swing a Japanese garden in the backyard, I wouldn’t feel bad about it.

It is such a FALSE empathy. They despise the Christian who bows down to God, but they put their faith in other liberals. And I don’t think they even like each other much! They like the IDEA that they care and conservatives do not.

Reminds me of when Beavis was watching a video. “Is that a tear, Pantera? Is daddy’s little girl upset?”

Beavis: Hey Butt-head, does this Pantera guy ever relax?
Butt-head: Uhh, I don’t think so. This guy’s dad must have kicked his ass when he was a kid.
Beavis: Yeah, really. He was like, “Dammit Pantera, this beer is warm! Get me another one!”
Butt-head: Yeah. He was like, “You treat your stepmother with respect, Pantera! Or you’ll be sleeping in the street!”
Beavis: He’s like, “Dammit Pantera, I told you to get out there and mow that lawn! Oh, what’s this? Is that a tear, Pantera? Oh, is daddy’s little girl upset? I’m gonna kick your ass into next Tuesday, now get outta here! And quit acting like a damn little girl!”

Liberals dream of creating some utopia. Liberals are depressed because liberals are never satisfied. They can never win enough elections, appoint enough judges, create enough safe spaces or government programs to alleviate every social ill, to feel that they have achieved their utopia.

And part of that is moving the goal posts. For example, the liberals and LGBT types struggled to achieve homosexual marriage. They won that battle in our culture. Were they happy, were their lives complete? NO! Instead, they are still pissed off, but now they have moved the goal posts to working on transsexual issues, transgendered access to bathrooms and locker rooms.

So no matter how far they go to achieve some goal, it’s never enough for the liberal. In the LGBT area, in this example, they will never be satisfied. If they achieve their goals of “equality” for transsexuals, then they will move the goal posts again, and push for something else, and will not be happy.

We see it on many other issues too. Consider all the environmental activism in recent decades. We have done a hell of a lot to clean up the environment in recent decades, but do the enviro extremists cry for joy about that? NO! Instead they have moved on to push this global warming thing, and are as unhappy now, as they were when the Cuyahoga River caught on fire due to pollution.

I don’t understand how ‘cultural appropriation’ can be a problem to liberals when they worship diversity. But you never know with them. Political correctness is a confusing false god to follow.

In my opinion and experience, conservatives tend to be content and happy. Liberals aren’t happy unless they are agitating something: oh, you look too happy, let me mess that up, you are smiling too much, let me anger you, etc.

Nothing fun about being a “liberal.” I truly believe many of them are mentally ill and want to spread the misery.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

For millennia people have been borrowing other cultural things. Suddenly it’s a sin?

The worst thing about our modern “liberals” is that they aren’t even liberal. They’re conservative to some kind of imaginary, quirky standards that aren’t even realistic.

Yoga is NOT asana. Asana is calisthenics for housewives who want to be “hip”; yoga is a state of awareness in union with chit, or pure, undiluted, undifferentiated consciousness.

On behalf of all our forehead-dotted persons, I am severely triggered by your culturally-appropriative mansplaining.
