He could have vetoed that omnibus bill. So what if congress ldnhave overridden veto? It would be on congress then. Then at least Trump would have shown he was true to what he said he stood for.

I agree with you, but I’ll also take him at his word that he signed it because he wanted the money for the military NOW, and accept that he’s not telling us why.
I was also very disappointed that he looked us in the eye afterwards and tried to feed us a line of BS (”Let me tell you about the good things in this bill...”) instead of laying it out like it is.
I think post #15 would probably work pretty good too.
Hopefully this invasion will be the event that allows Trump to use his privilege as CiC to invoke the military to build the wall, to counter this naked invasion.

That’s because our do-nothing AG has been trained by his years in the Senate, whose entire standard operating procedure is to form a committee to investigate the possibility of having a hearing to discuss options to create reports to hand off to more committees to study - all the while feathering their own nests (how many of those “public servants” are multi-millionaires, again?) by selling out we-the-people and our country as a whole.

He doesn’t have to order Mexico to close the border. Just have DHS close the many POE on our side until Mexico does. Can you imagine the tantrum that would cause if Trump did that. Ha ha.
POTUS had breakfast with Hannity this morning. Telling that the President had to hear this from him or the media first. DC is a snake pit.
No standoff. Border guy was saying all these illegals have to do is step one foot over border and border security arrests them hands then over to ICE, where they are given a deport court date which is usually 2 years down the road and then they are released in US and we trust them to show up for their in the future court date. This is how screwed up our system is currently.

I like Trump but he needs to know that when it comes to Drug flows and demanding that they be stopped, he plays a weak hand. As long as there is a demand by addicted Americans for the drugs, the president stands a risk of having that fact thrown back into his and America’s faces with some justification. Drug abusing Americans have blood of the innocents, on their own hands, that the cartels have slain over the years in getting their “products” to their paying American “customers”. Just like America is responsible for millions of unborn babies being wantonly destroyed, we are indirectly responsible for the mass slaughters of innocent people in Mexico or else where; the drug abusers and pushers even more so. Trump is right...execute the pushers and the “lily white financiers” even those who inhabit the black corners of our out of control intelligence agencies who play their own games with this illicit drug debacle!
Shortsighted. It's on Congress now. Had he vetoe'd it, congress would have taken their dear sweet time to override and every day the govt was shut down would have been bad press for Trump - they could have strung it out for weeks. Handicapping Trump from accomplishing anything and leaving our borders wide open.
Deplorables pick battles at the time of our own choosing, not theirs. Especially over bills that the Dems didn't bother reading.
What makes you think NEW Senators would be any different than the old ones? McTurtle threatens them when they get into office and he’s going to be there for a while. Besides, new Senators wouldn’t take office until JAN. 2019 - these invaders will be settled in our country by that time. Geesh, Congress is useless.
Mexico has been undermining this country since we beat them. Now they have figured out that if they keep sending Spanish speaking immigrants then they can take this country from us.
